Van Life Japan – AKITA Dogs and Samurai Village | 2 Weeks in Tohoku – Day 5
Traveling across Northern Japan, in the TINIEST campervan!
For two full weeks, this little campervan was my home on wheels as I traveled through the northern part of Tohoku, Japan. Every day I explored off the beaten path, visiting incredible scenic spots, local roadside stations, and bubbling onsen baths.
Day 5 took me to Akita Prefecture, where I visited Kakunodate Samurai Village, met an Akita dog, hiked in Dakigaeri Valley, and enjoyed an evening by Tazawako Lake.

Loving this trip so far! I bet I would sleep so well after a soak in an onsen. And that looked like one of your best dinners so far – yum! But one thing I will never understand about camping: Who wants to wash dishes on vacation?!😅
I love your Tohoku trip! Just wondering is it an easy drive around in a large campervan? Are the roads not narrow or uphill?
