Is Japan still too crowded? I found the truth. 🇯🇵 I traveled from Osaka Station to Kyoto Station to see if you can still enjoy Japan without the massive crowds.
While Kiyomizu-dera and Nishiki Market were busy, the backstreets were surprisingly empty! I’ll show you my favorite walking route to Yasaka Shrine and explain why the winter season is the ultimate “travel hack” to avoid over-tourism.
Even Osaka Station was peaceful. If you want to see the real Japan without the chaos, NOW is the best time to visit!

I avoid touristy areas usually, and so far have been happy about tourists level. Until I went to Beppu. First encounter with lots of Chinese.
It looks lovely! My first visit to Kyoto was traveling on business during the pandemic, and I was alone at almost every major tourist site. I have pictures by myself at Arashiyama! At 12 noon! It was amazing! I don’t know if I’ll ever see that again. ❤
Hello Rion! I would love to see some more spots outside of the regular Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo cycle this year. Even if it is just Kyoto suburbs, sometimes it's nice to see things that are less repetitive. I know in Osaka there is Mino Falls and in Kyoto there is also Kurama and Kibune. I would love to see you go to these places instead of the same spots!
