    Since the recent time table switch DB Fernverkehr wants to use their fleet more uniformal.
    As of this year, the ICE 2 runs on the Berlin-Cologne corridor. Specifically on the services that stop in Bielefeld and Minden.

    good ol Deutsche bahn delays… such good trains (got to travel on an ICE 3 and 4, ICE T was planned but switched to an ICE 3) but so much delays

    I think Verspätung has now become a household name for english speaking people like Kindergarten. 🙂 577 km in 5 hours plus 1 hour delay in our fastest trains, that is so embarrassing for Germany.

    I live in Canada but used to come to Germany a lot pre-COVID. Those were good days to travel DB: The trains were on-time and the DB First Class Lounge was open to any 1st Class ticket holder (complimentary sandwiches, beverages, and a comfy lounge to enjoy). My recent 2024 trip was plagued with shutdowns on the high speed line which delayed & cancelled trains everywhere, upon my arrival into and out of Frankfurt. I ended up standing in the vestibule of an overcrowded 1st Class car for hours. A few days later Zelensky was in Berlin on the same day I was travelling west out of Berlin: Needless to say we were delayed hours. A return train from Krakow to Berlin was delayed 3 hours due to someone tampering with the track requiring a large team of orange-clothed workers to ensure safe passage for us. Only 1 of my 14 booked trains ran on-time with most running 1 to 3 hours late. Almost comedic: I just grinned and made the best of it throughout it all. By the way, nice morning video footage in your video today. I do like the interiors of all of the various ICE trains that I have taken and I really appreciate the BordRestaurants.     The service that doesn't even enter the HS line shouldn't be branded (and priced) as ICE, but simply IC, no matter what rolling stock it uses. ON the line where speed never exceeds 200 km/h the travel time of an ordinary IC would be pretty much the same.

    i went on that type from Dresden to Berlin BER airport by chance, it was meant to be an IC DoubleDecker train but was swapped with an ICE2 train instead. i was so happy, i was going back to the uk and this was an unexpected icing on the cake, loved traveling with it.

    My memory of Berlin Hbf: I once spent the night there, waiting for an early train to Munich (long story that I'll skip here), and at some point, I saw what I thought was smoke in one of the restaurants (closed at that time). I was about to alert a security guard when I realized that a lady was cleaning an oven using steam, and there was so much that it fooled me. All was good haha

    Loved this video, the run under snow was particularly attractive, please try our Vande Bharat in Kashmir Valley, currently it is running under thick blanket of snow, looking like pure heaven!!🧡🧡🧡

    To answer your question, i've been on the "beer" train from Amsterdam to Berlin hauntbahnhof years ago. Still need to try out the new ICE on this leg.

    You can't have been to Bielefeld, because Bielefeld doesn't exist. So I doubt you really made it to Cologne. 😉
    Nice Video. And yes, that's a typical journey on the ICE2, which is why they're being taken out of service. Their reliability really leaves a lot to be desired.
