Cosme Week Tokyo is a three-day convention that brings together beauty brands and experts to showcase all the latest trends and products you’ll likely see in stores already or in the near future.

This year the event was held at Tokyo Big Sight on Jan. 16-18 and featured over 750 brands. I find beauty care in Asia to be interesting since there is an abundance of products and brands for just about anything. I was ready to learn more!

The annual event is a great networking opportunity for those interested in starting a beauty brand.

I had the chance to visit many booths and sample some of the products being demonstrated. Below are three of my favorites.

INOPRO – Innovative Oral Care – This U.S.-based company sells probiotic toothpaste and whitening strips. INOPRO unveiled new flavors at Cosme Week, including banana and strawberry. The toothpastes smelled exactly like fruit, which was awesome! The unreleased flavored toothpastes will soon hit the market, the staff at the booth said. I fell to temptation and bought mint whitening strips since I’m a heavy smoker. So far, the strips don’t hurt my gums and have a coconut flavor instead of the bitter fluoride taste. INOPRO is available on U.S. Amazon and does ship to AP, AE and FPO addresses.

The Barum – Proactive Skin Care- This Korean brand sells beauty masks and skin care. Their moisturizer focuses on face, hands and feet. I’ve seen plenty of face beauty masks in Japan but never noticed any for feet. I stopped and received a foot mask sample to try. Would this be the solution to this soldier’s boot-damaged feet? So far, the mask works wonders but is a bit cold for the winter. I think this is an interesting concept, especially in the military, since we are always wearing boots. The package comes in Korean and English, so it’s easy to read and learn how to use it.

My trip to this convention was interesting; I will definitely attend again. It was free and I got to browse through a lot of international companies. The next venue is in Osaka later this year if you have any interest in attending and learning about skin and beauty care.
