Akashi Station Night Walk: Redeveloped Station Front and Quiet Sakuramachi
I’m heading back to my family home in Kobe on a slightly delayed visit—and while I’m at it, I’m also setting off on a trip to circle Shikoku.
Traveling from Aichi through Shiga and Kyoto, I returned to Hyogo Prefecture. After stopping by Kobe, where my family home is, I headed to the neighboring city of Akashi. This time I walked around the area near Akashi Station.
The station front has been redeveloped and looks much cleaner and more modern than before. Akashi is also known for its growing population, likely thanks to its convenient access to Osaka and its overall livability.
I also walked through Sakuramachi, the local entertainment district. Since it was a Tuesday night, the streets were quiet and the atmosphere felt calm and subdued.
