Shizuoka Travel Vlog 🇯🇵 | Mount Fuji Views, Nihondaira, Toshogu Shrine & Local Izakaya Food

Join us on a scenic journey through Shizuoka, Japan, where breathtaking views of Mount Fuji meet rich history, modern architecture, and unforgettable local food. This walking travel vlog begins at Nihondaira Plateau, home to one of the best panoramic views in Japan, featuring Mount Fuji, Suruga Bay, and Shizuoka City all in one frame.

We explore Nihondaira Yume Terrace, a stunning observation deck designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, before taking the Nihondaira Ropeway to Kunōzan Tōshō-gū Shrine, the original resting place of Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Edo Shogunate and a designated National Treasure site.

As the sun sets, we return to Nihondaira for beautiful sunset and night views over Shizuoka City, then head to an izakaya at Shizuoka Station to sample local specialties — including tuna sashimi, Shizuoka black oden, shiokara (fermented squid), poached kinmedai, and crispy gyoza. The night ends on a sweet note with the famous Dojima Roll from Mon Cher Café.

In the next episode, we travel to Fujinomiya, at the foot of Mount Fuji, visiting Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha, the Mount Fuji World Heritage Center, Sunpu Castle, and strolling through downtown Shizuoka.
