Hi travellers,
In this video I show the daily flight from Hong Kong to Shanghai with Cathay Dragon KA870. This flight is scheduled to depart at 9:15pm and arrive at 11:50pm. It’s the same time in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Cathay Dragon flights tend to leave from the satellite gates at Hong Kong airport. Make sure you leave enough time to get the bus and pop over. I have missed a flight as I didn’t realise how far it is to walk and then bus.
Cathay Dragon has a small selection of English movies and tv shows, for a short flight its adequate. You can also charge your phone with the provided shelf and USB port.
There is a dinner served on this evening flight. I do quite enjoy Haagen-Daz, you need to let it melt as it’s rock hard and the plastic spoon is going no where near it. I may have also asked for a second helping hehe.
There are a few choices of airlines for the route, Cathay Dragon earns some meagre status credits and Qantas points. Plus its in the One World alliance so I can carry my heavy luggage due to extra allowance offered with Silver Qantas status.
This video is part of a series, check out the Qantas flights from Christchurch to Brisbane and Brisbane to Hong Kong, as well as my layover in Hong Kong.
This flight was paid for by my company.
Safe travels.
