Shrines and temples are not the same #Japan

When you visit Japan, you would see a lot of shrines and temples – No, they are not interchangeable terms for places of worship. For example, in Tokyo, Sensoji is a temple and Meiji Jungu is a shrine. In Kyoto, Kiyomizudera is a temple and Fushimi Inari is a shrine. Knowing the basic difference between a temple and shrine would make your visit to either of them, more interesting.
