Kyoto in 4 days | Hidden ramen & cheesecake shops, Geisha, Yozakura festival, F1 & foodie vlog
We head to Japan’s cultural capital, Kyoto, after visiting “Little Kyoto” on our first time journeying through Japan! From geisha, matcha, cherry blossoms, temples, bamboo groves, and goshuincho to coffee, soufflé pancakes, hidden samurai basque cheesecake shops, and tucked-away ramen bars, our itinerary was curated to capture everything that embodies the first-time Kyoto experience (from our point of view).
Although this video is primarily about Kyoto, we also take a day trip to Suzuka via Nagoya to attend the Japanese Formula 1 Grand Prix, which is a whole adventure in itself.
🏯 Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with friends, we hope this Kyoto travel vlog can serve as both a Kyoto travel guide and Japan itinerary inspiration. While this itinerary was created for the beginning of the sakura season, most of it works perfectly year-round, with the exception of the geisha show at Miyako Odori and the yozakura at Yasaka Shrine.🏯
Speaking of cherry blossoms, the current forecast for peak sakura season in Kyoto is set for March 24, 2026, according to n-kishou.com; however, this is subject to change.
⛩️ This is Episode 5 of our Japan series, following our trips to Little Kyoto, Kanazawa, and Takayama, which featured samurai districts in the rain and real-life anime locations. We spent months planning our full Japan itinerary, and there’s much more to come in the upcoming episodes. ⛩️
