Less-Known Kitakyushu | Walking Beneath Wakato Bridge in Wakamatsu [4K]

The Wakato Bridge is one of Kitakyushu iconic red suspension bridges, connecting the Wakamatsu and Tobata wards over Dokai Bay. It opened in 1962 and was once known as one of the longest suspension bridges in the East. It has since become a symbol of the city and was designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.

Wakamatsu itself was a key coal shipping port and is now a historic area with old buildings and streets near the waterfront.

In this video, enjoy a simple, no-talking walking view under the bridge and around the streets near the water.
