Hi Toshi, Where are the safest place to go suring late october and early week of November? We are planning to go to Osaka Universal studio during late week of October. Is the weather cold already? is it rainy ?
regarding maid cafes. i know i am a bit of an outsider, so what am i to say that but i think nonetheless. i know they are not the real japan and its not how japan enjoys otaku culture but i still think its a part of japan. its something that makes japan unique and it has its right to exist and tbh when they were invented i doubt they had foreign tourists in mind. i myself was in one and it was fun and i think the people doing that they have fun too, so whats the deal?? one should know what he or she is up to, with that in mind i really dont see a problem
You should mention Japan host club or hostess club, that place is freakin scam lord for tourist. My older sister friend got ripped off paying over $1000 USD after visit same host club for the 3rd times, she thought that place is okay, because she already go there 2nd times, she is crying when telling the story to my older sister. Maid cafe is still okay, yes, there is some that is sus. But, some is still good for tourist, need to be smart not get fooled by the bad one.
I meant to visit Kuromon Market when I was staying in Osaka, but ran out of time – I opted for Shinsaibashi (head north from Dotonbori) instead, the PARCO there had a great pop culture floor (featuring a Ghibli store where you can get photos with Totoro) and a cool Visual-Kei record store in a mall near the American Village called 'Like An Edison'. Oh, and a Shake Shack! 😋

I’ve been to a maid cafe, yeah it’s not the way to experience the “otaku culture” but they are fun, I saw tourists but also saw plenty of Japanese while I was there
I’m going to Tohoku this summer but I’ll keep an eye to not be in any zone with recent bear sightings. Do you know if there’s any website or page that keeps track of them?
