As demand for travel to Japan continues to grow exponentially, Goway is adding Kyushu and Shizuoka to its portfolio of packages.
“At Goway, we’ve seen a 41% increase in bookings to Japan over the past calendar year, with more travelers than ever before inquiring about locations beyond Tokyo and Kyoto,” Goway said.
“These regions of Japan see far fewer international visitors while still showcasing the nation’s cultural traditions, historic attractions, and gorgeous natural environments, including cherry blossoms and autumn foliage,” Goway said.
New Kyushu itineraries include “Highlights of Japan: Undiscovered Kyushu,” which puts the spotlight on the island’s cuisine, ancient forests, spectacular coastal vistas and hot springs; and “Japan Road Trip: Kyushu Edition,” which explores the destination by train, taking in Fukuoka, Beppu and the Takachiho Gorge.
“I recently visited Kyushu, and it delivered on every level,” said Goway Vice President of Asia Moira Smith. “This is Japan at its best and without the crowds. Travelers should seek it out before it catches on.”
For Shizuoka, Goway unveiled “Essential Tokyo & Kyoto: The Fuji Coastline Route,” which takes in the Izu Peninsula, Shuzenji Onsen, a hot spring resort town, and Mount Fuji.
“Shizuoka is an excellent option for first-timers going to Japan for a short stay,” said Goway commercial manager for Asia, Brittany Banks. “It’s not as busy as Hakone and easy to access as it’s on the bullet train line from Tokyo to Kyoto.”
In all, Goway’s features trips to more than 117 countries on seven continents.
