Street Food in Japan
Azabu Juban is one of our favorite neighborhoods in Tokyo for street food. It’s compact, walkable, and packed with long-running specialty shops alongside newer spots, making it easy to sample a wide range of snacks in a single visit.
On this walk, we stopped by several Azabu Juban classics and favorites:
• Tanuki Senbei – freshly grilled rice crackers
• Azabu Karintou – a variety of traditional karinto
• Naniwaya – classic taiyaki
• Tsukishimaya – comforting imagawayaki
• Motosue – warm, fluffy egg bread
• DUMBO – New York–style doughnuts
This area is perfect if you enjoy eating a little bit of everything and discovering food as you walk.

Nice.
Azabu Juban… Aka the place where extremely rich and wealthy Tokyoite families and billionaires from 90s live in private housing of their own located in Minato ward. Sounds like a place where Sailor Moon's mangaka lived. 🤔
I love taiyaki. Last year in Tokyo my son and I were waiting for my wife to get her nails done at a place close to sensoji. I decided hey I want my son to try this. So we went to a little shop and he got the Nutella filled one and it turned into a disaster. He got it all over his face had no idea and ended up smearing it all over his white shirt. Literally look like he got poop everywhere. Was the funniest thing especially watching people look at him like it was poop. Omg I was dying seeing how mortified people looked.
