This is likely the most impactful video I’ll ever create. We spent the day driving through Kukushima, Japan. In 2011, Japan saw a major disaster. An earthquake struck Fukushima and Okuma (the location of the Daichii nuclear power plant). The reactors shut down as normal, however the subsequent tsunami created issues with the back-up generators – the one’s that rendered the workers from being able to control the reactors. The reactors had a melt down spilling radiation into the area creating a situation that has yet to be resolved in the last 7 years.
We weren’t able to stay long in this part of Fukushima as guards were in the area and radiation levels are still unsafe. It was an eye-opener – and one experience I’l never forget.
