Getting Lost and Ripped off in KYOTO?

This was supposed to be my perfect Kyoto day — Fushimi Inari at sunrise, a sake tasting in the historic Fushimi district, and a Maiko performance in Gion.
But travel has a way of rewriting your plans, and this day turned out completely different than I expected.

From getting lost on the train to Fushimi Inari, to having one of the best sake conversations of my trip, to experiencing a Gion Maiko show that felt strangely touristy… this video is my honest reflection on Kyoto, told from the perspective of a traveling artist with a camera in hand.

Not everything went right — but the unexpected moments ended up becoming the most memorable ones.
