Many people think that when Japan is mentioned they think about car brands like Toyota or for example modern cities like Tokyo, ninjas, samurai, other Japanese culture etc, but they don't know about Okinawa prefecture that has beautiful islands with stunning landscapes with clear water and coral like Ishigaki, it's one of the most best places in Japan
There is no rule that you can't swim in a bikini. However, within the villages where the islanders live, wearing a swimsuit or revealing clothing is considered bad manners.
It's customary that Okinawa Island residents swim in T-shirts,
but they only come to beaches to have a barbecue party and don't usually swim much.
Most of Japanese who come from the main islands of Japan swim in bikinis, but because the sun is so strong, some people swim in T-shirts.
In Japan, there are no religious restrictions like Islam, so you are free to wear bikinis on the beach and beach cover-ups or one piece in town.
The reason why Asian people on the beach are wearing T-shirts may be because there are many Muslims.
