Sailing Kobe’s Harbour & Eating Like Absolute Animals at the Buffet

Welcome to our “View from the office” We’re Mike and Tracy, a couple from New Zealand who sold all our possessions, farewelled our family and friends and set off to travel the world in 2022.

We love to record our experiences to preserve the memories and perhaps inspire others to embrace their goals, whether it be travel or something else. Please hit that subscribe button, give us a thumbs up and leave us a comment, and come along on our adventure as we travel to some new and exciting places and unique cultures .

In this video we visit Kobe – a stylish port city nestled between the sea and mountains in Japan’s Kansai region and roughly a 40 minute express train ride from our base in Osaka.
Historically a trading port and famous for Kobe beef we found the city to be much more modern than the other cities we have visited so far in Japan and really enjoyed the difference.
We took a short cruise on the Atakemaru a classical looking ship recommended by my friend Rumi. Afterwards we stumbled upon a buffet lunch and decided to indulge ourselves.
Needing to walk off some calories we headed to Sannomiya shopping street to stroll the street and do some “window” shopping.
