Eating EVERYTHING at Tokyo’s Biggest Christmas Market!
Hey guys, it’s me, Jimmy. Today I’m here in Tokyo, Japan, and I’ll be going to the biggest Christmas market in Tokyo. Now, I have high expectations because these Japanese people, they know how to make great food, and this is supposed to be a German themed Christmas market. The market is huge, and I took a walk around just now. The food looks amazing. So, let me try to have as much food as I can today. To help me with this amazing journey, I have a Germany and Japan expert here. Please welcome Sarah Sang. Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m half German and I live in Japan and I’ve been to this market three times before. >> Yeah. How was it? >> It’s really fun. I feel like it’s not the most authentic food-wise, but we’ve got the vibe. We have the tower, the little shops, the food. >> Have you had food? >> No. I’m starving. >> I’m starving, too. Let’s go have some food. >> Pretzel pretzel. >> Should we start with pretzel? >> As a German, I approve. >> Okay, we’re going to start with some good pretzel. Here’s this vendor and they have pretzels. >> When you come to the market, there are so many shops to choose from, but the menus are like slightly different. So, you really have to like walk around to find the place. Oh, we’re next. >> All right, time to check out the Japanese pretzel. >> So, Jimmy wanted the chocolate one. Very festive. >> Oh, I love how they have like harsh shaped candies. >> Let me get a taste of your beautiful culture. I’ve seen how they make it. They roll out this dough into like a little string and then they wrap it like this and that becomes a pretzel. >> Wow. You know, I’ll be honest. Visually speaking, it is very cute. Love the chocolate. Pretzel wise, I think it would be a lot better if it was like warmer. You know how when pretzels are served warm, it’s like really delicious. I’m sure they came out warm, but the weather is so cold right now. By the time you hold it, it’s kind of cold. So, I’m going to go for like the pretzel only section. >> Yeah, it’s a little underwhelming. I want it to be warm. I think if you warmed it up and so on, it would be better. >> So, here’s another vendor. They seem to have a lot more meat-based dishes. What do you want from them? >> I think I want the kuroagyu sandal. >> That actually looks very delicious. I can see some mustard and big Wagyu pieces. M. >> Is it good? >> It looks so tender. >> It’s really good. Oh my god. This is like one of the best things I’ve ever had at this market. >> Yeah. >> Like the sauce, I think it’s the mustard they use on the Wagyu is just so good. The tenderness of the beef. The bread, I think, has like butter on the outside like or fried just really crispy. >> Okay, let me try it. >> Wow. >> It’s good, right? I love how the bread is very crispy. It’s well buttered. There’s a lot of mustard and it goes really well with the Wagyu. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I would say this is great food. >> What do you want to have next? >> You know, I want a big fat German sausage. So, here’s a sausage vendor. They are selling all kinds of sausages. I want your recommendation on this. >> Okay. I’m not the sausage professional or like I know what’s popular here is the the the the schnecker like the the So, that’s how it was in the advertisement. >> It looks different. >> Here’s a good, handsome German sausage. Look at the tiny spoon that they gave us. Oh, the sausage kind of feels hard. >> Oh my god. >> They gave me some mustard and some uh pickled >> Oh, isn’t it zak? >> Oh, pickled cabbage. >> Yeah. As a Korean, you should be familiar. Kimchi. It’s like German kimchi. >> The best German sausage in the world. >> I don’t know about being German, but it’s good sausage. Like, it’s nice and firm. It’s kind of juicy. And I’m not going to claim that this is any better than like Costco sausage, but I love Costco sausages. Not terrible as a sausage. paying almost $10 for this. In Japan, it is kind of expensive, >> but look at the view you have behind you. >> Beautiful. >> What’s your Christmas plan, Jimmy? >> Um, I’m going to find myself a gorgeous woman. We’re going to hold hands and walk around in soul. I’m going to tell her, “You look even more gorgeous today.” >> Beautiful. >> What else should I say? >> Salam. Hey. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. Maybe not on the first date. Nah, I want to be bold. Woman like bold men. I’m just going to go for the kiss. Yeah, visually speaking, let’s not deny that this looks kind of sad. >> Those look kind of sad. >> Okay, Sarah son, I’m feeling kawaii today, so I want to have something kawaii. >> I’m always feeling kawaii. >> Well, there’s one that’s perfect for you, too. They got some really cute drinks here. pizza. >> I mean, I’m not sure about marshmallow s’mores pizza. I know Japan’s a free country, but perhaps there’s such thing as too much freedom. >> What is this? >> It’s a pizza. I bet Germans eat that all the time. >> And these are the hot chocolates, and I give it to them. And these are kawaii as hell. >> Look how cute they are. Okay, Germany doesn’t do the cute like drinks to my knowledge. So I feel like if you want the kawaii factor, you got to come to the Japanese market. So this is a hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows and my Santa cookie, I think. Oh, this is actually really good. Like it’s very sweet. >> So it sounds like their hot chocolate’s fine. But how about this one? Their Christmas pizza looks and sounds like a nightmare. But could it surprise us? So, it was just a flower dough topped with marshmallows, custard cream, chocolate, and cocoa powder. So, is it just cute or is it nice when it goes into your mouth? >> Oi, >> it’s not like pizza at all. A nice little dough with chocolate. I like it as a snack. >> I want to put a Christmas hat on you. Will it fit? Yes. Ah, it suits you. And I have one more thing that we can do together. A surprise. Jimmy doesn’t know. Have you ever done a Christmas cracker before? We got to pull it. And then there’s something inside. >> Oh, wow. That’s so cool. Actually, >> this is like Australian Christmas culture. One, two, three. >> It’s a really cute bottle of liquor. >> My mom sent me this in the mail as a Christmas celebration thing. >> And you’re sharing this with me. Thank you so much. >> This tastes really weird. This tastes like alcoholic pizza. Crust tastes like alcohol or sanitizer. I’m going to get my drink as well. Pretty amazing. So cute. >> And I will say that this is a decent hot chocolate, especially in this cold weather. It was almost like a necessity. >> I have a story about Christmas that I >> would like to share. It’s a very sad story. >> Oh, >> can I share it? >> Sure. >> This might make you guys cry. A long time ago, I was about must have been about six or seven. I grew up all my life as an abused little child. Okay. My parents didn’t give me any attention other than the more kind of attention. And one day I was with my mom. We went to a bookstore. She wanted to buy like a stapler or something, something random. It was days before Christmas and knowing my mom or my parents, they could not give a crap about Christmas. The bookstore was selling all these Christmas cards. I don’t know what happened to my mom that day, but she decided to buy me a Christmas card. And this car that they were selling, it had like a little button and if you press it, it would play like a Christmas song. It was just a Christmas song, but it was sad to me. Oh. >> Because my parents growing up never gave me any kind of attention. And for some reason that day, my mom decided to write me a little letter. It was something simple. It was like a sentence or two. Merry Christmas. I love you, my son. That was all it said. >> That’s sweet. >> And I was like, wow, this is so cool. My mom loves me and I’m a child, too. The next day, everything was back to abuse and brutality and neglection. But I treasured that card. I put it in my box of toys and every once in a while when the abuse was getting too much for me, I would play it >> every now and then. >> That is really sad. Oh my god. >> I would play it. >> Oh my god. >> Just to remind myself that my parents don’t hate me. >> Is that real? >> It’s real. >> Oh my god. >> It’s a really sad story, right? And then like maybe like a year or two later, it eventually ran out of battery. One of the very few good memories about Christmas, it disappeared. >> Guys, give some love to Jimmy in the comments. >> Guys, send me some donations. >> No. Wish him a merry Christmas. >> Oh, okay. >> Sure. >> And this time, we’re going to get a special Christmas drink from this vendor and it’s called >> Blue Vine. The first of the evening. And I’m going to get the red one. They also have a white one. >> Grine or white. >> H red and white >> two. >> Yes. >> Okay. 600. >> Okay. Your English is very good. >> Oh wow. >> That was quick. A glue wine is >> is basically a mixture of different spices as well as orange peel. And so that’s where it gets its flavor from Kai. Oh, P. >> I got the white wine one and you got the red wine. >> Yeah. >> And it kind of tastes like a lemon flavored wine. And because it’s warm, it’s hard to tell if there’s alcohol in it, but you can definitely get drunk from it. >> So, they have food at this booth as well. So, >> I’m looking at their beef stew. It comes in a bread bowl. In photos, everything is beautiful in Japan, but uh you know, if you’ve been on a dating app here, in real life, things are very different. >> That’s the same across the whole world. >> Okay. Okay. >> I’m going to stop this guy. He says he says crazy stuff. >> These steps are literally freezing to death right now. I feel so bad. Please enjoy. >> Okay. >> It looked like most of the people that work here are in their early 20s. It must be like a seasonal part-time job for them. >> Don’t be shy. You’re doing great. >> So, here’s something that I got to warm myself up again. It’s their roast beef stew that comes in a bread bowl. >> And you got your churros. Are they German? >> No. >> It’s a bunch of cheese and beef and sauce. >> That actually looks really good though. And it’s piping hot. >> I have to say that the bread bowl wasn’t very tasty. But the stew was very nice and warm. And most importantly, it had a lot of meat. >> It’s nice. Uh, it’s very warm. Lots of meat. >> Well, I went for a snack. A churos. And for some reason, we’ve got a little pretzel as well as two kawaii once again characters, Santa and a reindeer. >> Oh. Oh my god. Did you hear that? >> Yeah, I heard a crack. What was it? >> It was There was a Santa. >> I feel like in Japan, churros churros are like everywhere at every event. >> Yeah, actually. >> You try the churros. I’m going to use the lid. Do you have great memories about Christmas? >> Yeah. >> I feel like you would. >> Sorry. >> Maybe if your parents gave you hugs. >> Yeah. Sorry. >> I’m sorry. >> Surely I don’t have a lot of great childhood memories and my father taught me nothing. But here’s an activity that my father would love. >> Can I have one beer to uh curry? >> Hell yeah. >> This is our final thing of the evening. Here’s the Japanese curry worst. >> These look so small and mini. It’s kind of funny. >> And she got her German drink here. >> It’s hot chocolate with roasted almond. I think >> sugared almonds. >> Nice. And I got myself some German beer. It looks nothing like the ones that I’ve seen in Germany. Okay, I’ll be honest. Just nice little supermarket sausages with curry powder on top. I’m not hating. >> What about the sauerkraut? >> With some German kimchi. >> And the beer. What a way to end the night. >> So, these are the tukamond. And I’m going to try one. I’ll get Jimmy to try one, too. M. >> Oh my god, they’re so good. These are like almost cinnamon flavored almonds, like coated in this really nice spice. >> And if you go in Germany, they serve them hot. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Wow. >> Hold on. There’s so much whipped cream. I can’t get to the actual hot drink. >> I know I look ridiculous, but I swear there’s like only cream in here. Hold on. Can you see that? >> Okay. There’s some trace of liquid in there. >> So, I had a pretty amazing time here in the Christmas market, the one in Tokyo. I feel like while the variety is kind of lacking in their food selection, it is kind of a cool place where you can have like a lot of cute experiences and the foods are generally like acceptably good. Especially the drinks. I think the drinks are actually quite nice. >> Thanks for having me. This was fun. Merry Christmas everyone. >> Merry Christmas guys. You see, you don’t have to be so butthard about having sad memories or no memories because you can always make new ones. Thank you guys for watching this video and go watch my other videos too. Fight.
In this video, I’m heading to the biggest Christmas market in Tokyo, Japan, with my friend Sarah @seerasan to try all the amazing food they have to offer. The Christmas market is held at Meiji Jingu Gaien, a very central and easily accessible area in Tokyo. It’s known as the largest Christmas market in the city — especially when it comes to food — with dozens of vendors selling incredibly cute, holiday-themed dishes.
So how good is the food, and how much does it cost? Watch the video to find out!

Jimmy, did your parents think to themselves 'We're good at this parenting thing – we should adopt another child!'. Just trying to understand why abusive parents would adopt a child when they already have biological children…
What is this team up, never in a million year would I seen this coming.
Love you Jimmy .. My parents were like yours… It stays with you…. Your a good soul… And a better generation for sure.. Chin up .thx for being brave by telling everyone.. Not easy ..

Happy holidays, Jimmy! I'm sending a holiday hug to you from Arizona.
Why does @seerasan look like Wapol from One Piece in certain lights 😣 bad editing! 😂
That girl is as German as the Prime Minister of India. ffs Jimmy
eating a small German sausage ”not bad for a sausage.”
So I have a chance?
I actually started crying at the part where you said you'd play the music from the card. And started laughing when you said the battery died…😂 Well you turned out fine given what you went through. I do hope you find a nice lady for yourself
I see Jimmy got himself a haircut, no more porn-star Jimmy hairdo. Look at Jimmy trying to impress Sara!! Stop talking about how your parents were bad to you to girls, that's kinda depressing and seems like you are fishing for sympathy.
Whatttt my fav collabb
YO THIS IS AN EPIC COLLAB! yes!!
Ein bischen verwirrend den bei uns in Deutschland würde niemand jemals Schokolade auf eine Brezel machen und die schnecke sollte gebraten sein nicht gekocht sorry aber das musste ich sagen.
Finally Uncle Jimmy got rid of that Soccer Mom Hairstyle
He looks clean now
Jimmy, did you receive the big fat german sausage you wanted?
