Citing multiple government sources, the paper revealed that the visit aims to solidify relations between the two nations, particularly before Trump’s planned visit to China to meet with President Xi Jinping in April.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, notably between Japan and China, making the reaffirmation of U.S.-Japan ties a strategic priority.
