Exploring Kyoto’s No.1 Must-Visit Spot | Fushimi Inari Shrine’s Senbon Torii | Japan’s WalkingTour

Hello! Today, I’m going to Fushimi Inari Taisha, famous for its Senbon Torii (Thousands of Torii Gates)! It takes about a 5-minute walk from Keihan “Fushimi Inari” Station. Morning is especially recommended for visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha ✨ Since there are fewer people, it’s easier to walk, and you can take really great photos!! Even this shopping street gets super crowded by around noon 💦 I’ve arrived at Fushimi Inari Taisha! The morning sun is shining through, making the Torii ⛩️ feel somewhat mystical. Looking up close, it’s really huge! Fushimi Inari is a tourist spot, but it’s a shrine, so let’s pay our respects properly! I’ve arrived at the Sakuramon Gate. This shrine was founded in 711, and it is said that gods are enshrined in the mountain including the shrine. The name “Inari” comes from “Ine ga Naru” (Rice grows), which became “Inari”, and was named Inari. I’m going to purify my hands at the Chozuya! These foxes you often see at Fushimi Inari Taisha are considered messengers of the gods. There are 3 types of fox statues, and what they hold in their mouths is different, so please try to find them when you go!! Now, I’m heading to those famous Senbon Torii, and then to Yotsutsuji, which has a great view beyond that!! This is where they sell charms, fortune slips (Omikuji), and Ema! I’m planning to write a wish on an Ema on my way back today 👍 Everyone is drawing fortune slips to check their luck. This is the starting point of the Senbon Torii! Actually, there seem to be over a thousand of them!!! The company and individual names carved on the Torii are carved by donating money to the shrine, but it seems they donate at least 300,000 JPY / 2,000 USD for just one 😲 I’ll keep walking through the Torii. They sell charms here too, about a 15-minute walk from the entrance! I’ve reached Mitsutsuji in about 20 minutes from the start point!! You have to constantly climb stairs, so I recommend coming in sneakers 👍 I’ve arrived at Yotsutsuji!! It took about 40 minutes in total to get here 💦 The scenery is beautiful and feels so good!! It seems it takes another 30 minutes to go around the mountain where the shrine is… The teahouse here is very famous, but it opens at 10:00, so I’ll pass for today! Graffiti!? No, they are working on painting letters onto the Torii! The teahouse on the way back had a nice atmosphere too. I’m heading back via the return route! There’s a kitty sleeping on top of the Torii. From another angle! Is it feeling good because the sun is hitting it? I’m back at the main hall. Now, I’m going to write a wish on an Ema!! One Ema was 1,000 JPY / 6.67 USD! I wonder what wish I should write. I want peace to come to the world, so I wished for world peace! May everyone’s wishes come true ✨ I found a delicious-looking sign! I’ll go check out this cafe 👍 The view from inside the cafe looks good too, so I’ll choose this place! You can have warm Manyo tea self-service. I ordered the “Inari Parfait”! 1,650 JPY / 11.00 USD – Inari Parfait Plenty of Uji matcha is used, so it’s definitely delicious! It’s cute that a red Torii is stuck in it. It’s bigger than it looked in the video and has a lot of volume!! The fox unique to Inari Shrine is printed on the rice cracker! The ice cream was a little hard… Yum! As expected of Uji matcha ice cream, it has a very rich flavor!! It’s crispy and has a subtly sweet taste! Everything is so delicious ✨ At the bottom, there’s azuki beans, puffed rice, and matcha agar. The atmosphere inside was great too, so I highly recommend it! Next, I’m going to eat Fushimi Inari’s famous “Quail”!! Skip this if you don’t like grotesque visuals. There are food stalls inside the shrine, feeling like a festival! Dining place “Inafuku” You can have “Quail” here! Quail: 1 piece – 850 JPY / 5.67 USD It’s a little grotesque… This is the “Quail”. I’m looking forward to seeing what it tastes like! I’m going to try it right away!! Mmm Maybe because it was hard, I couldn’t bite through it easily. The head part tasted like gizzard!! The other parts had a strong sweet sauce taste, like Yakitori. You can eat the whole body, so please be careful with the bones!!! Thank you for watching!! If you have any questions or requests, please let me know in the comments <(_ _)>

I visited Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto!
The place was extremely crowded as it’s the most popular tourist destination in Japan!
I recommend visiting early in the morning🌅
Hope you enjoy the video! 🌿
