【旅Vlog】#62 夫さんと行く日本旅行、そして新生活/私たちの夏休み/お引越し/新居で初着物

It’s been a while. I’m Nikki. This summer, I traveled to Japan with my husband and his friend. It’s been a while since I’ve been back, and it’s been three weeks. It was my husband’s friend’s first trip to Japan. He was blown away by the deliciousness of Japanese bread, his first time trying it. He also seemed puzzled, asking, “Do Japanese people only wear black and white?” We were exhausted by the heat and crowds in Tokyo… We went to Hakone in search of healing and coolness… Pirate ship, cable car, ropeway, and hot springs. It was a little chilly, but the greenery was very pleasant and soothing. My husband and his friend repeatedly said they wanted to come to Hakone again. Next we went from Hakone to Hiroshima. My husband really wanted to come here on this milestone 80 years since the end of the war. Hearing the boy’s words, “Why is it so broken?” it really touched my heart… We took the ferry to Miyajima. My husband and his friend were shocked to see the wild deer being so friendly towards people. Miyajima was so beautiful that we stayed there for over five hours from the morning. From Hiroshima to Kyoto. I loved Kyoto’s typically Japanese scenery. It was strange to hear foreign languages everywhere we went… I also got to go to the Gion Festival, which I’d always wanted to see. My husband was thrilled to be at a Japanese festival for the first time in a long time, beer in hand. His friend’s eyes were wide open as it was all new to him. 😳 We also tried lots of Japanese sweets. All the Japanese sweets are cute 🩷 We went to an antique flea market. They were so excited about the Japanese antiques. We went to a herb garden in Hyogo that I’d wanted to visit. My favorite aroma! 😍 I was so satisfied, surrounded by cute plants and lovely smells! ✨ For lunch, we splurged on Kobe beef. They were probably the most grateful they’ve ever been! 😂 In fact, Japanese shrine and temple carpenters are very popular overseas. My husband’s friend’s hobby is furniture making, so we came here. Apparently, foreigners are impressed by the intricate craftsmanship of Japanese people. There were lots of foreigners there on the day we visited. From Kobe to Osaka. There were so many foreigners that it was hard to find a Japanese person. My husband’s friend was surprised by the food they saw. Japanese food in America and Japanese food in Japan. His friend was confused by the stark differences in taste and cuisine…😰 The big city of Tokyo. The beautiful Japanese gardens and cityscapes of Kyoto. And the nightlife of Osaka… Japan has many different faces, depending on the region. They’re all true Japan. The differences were so great that my husband’s friend was left confused… Okinawa, the final destination of our trip. We had been blessed with good weather up until then. But then two typhoons approached… My husband was dejected, having bought a new swimsuit… But despite the rain, we still enjoyed Okinawa to the fullest. This is the place that inspired the movie Hacksaw Ridge. It was a very enjoyable trip to Japan. The fun days passed by in a flash. We returned to the US. And returned to everyday life. The surgery on my left hand was successful, and next up was surgery on my right hand. The leaves are beginning to change color, and chestnuts and apples are ripening. At the end of September, we can feel the scent of autumn. We left our beloved rural town, and our familiar 60-year-old mountain home. We loaded up the truck and moved into a house on a quiet lake. A house that still has no belongings and needs lots of repairs. We plan to fix it up little by little using DIY. Hello, neighbors! A floral kimono. An antique Nagoya obi with a cute bird design. Now, which accessories should I choose…? 🤔 I’ve decided on beige! What other color accessories would you pair with this outfit? green color We don’t know anyone in this town. Starting from zero again. Our new lives are about to begin. See you soon👋🥰
