    I agree. I met my wife during my second tour in Okinawa while I was in the USMC. We married, she gave up her lucrative career when we got orders to the States, and blessed me with three beautiful daughters. She always had to work to help make ends meet, yet never complained. We have been married for 33 years. We are now empty nesters, have settled down in Okinawa for life, and just moved into our newly built house on land we bought. She no longer has to work. I call it her "Payback Tour."

    Totally disagree I'm from Rock Island. We have men who have sex just to have sex. We have the worst proverty in the nation. Most people are on welfare. We have constant crime. People digging in trash cans. Begging to mow your lawn. Japan has the right idea. There is less crime and our more productive.

    The people of Okinawa, by and large, do not like the American presence there, because of the well-documented incidents of American military personnel committing crimes off-base and using the Status of Forces to go unpunished
