KIOTO: Templos de Día, ‘Hoteles’ de Noche. La Realidad

The topic of prostitution in Japan is completely prohibited, but the government is permissive with other types of activities. Good people, welcome to Kyoto, the city where Japan keeps its soul. Among temples, gardens, and cobblestone streets, where geisha still walk, every corner reveals centuries of discipline, spirituality, and timeless beauty. Join me in exploring this wonderful city. I'm so excited to be in this city, to continue in this wonderful country, Japan, and one of its most important cities, Kyoto, the traditional city of Japan, where those very famous figures called geisha still exist. I hope you enjoy this video, which will be full of wonderful things, charm, and extraordinary places. Tax. Something you have to keep in mind with Kyoto, especially with all of Japan, is that it's a very expensive country, but Kyoto in particular is a very expensive city after Tokyo because it's home to the main temples and traditional Japanese culture. So, uh, I made a mistake. If you're going to book, you have to do it well in advance, months or even weeks ahead, because if you leave it until the last minute, you'll make the same mistake I did. The hotels were incredibly expensive. So, what I did—since I'm also visiting Osaka, by the way, if you haven't seen my Osaka videos, I'll leave the link here so you can see them; they're amazing—was find a much cheaper hotel in Osaka and stay for four nights. Osaka is about 14 or 15 minutes away by bullet train, and the round-trip fare is a bit pricey, $35, but that makes up for the cost of lodging here. Two nights in Kyoto at the cheapest hotel were costing me $40. Crazy! And something I'll never pay unless it's a strict emergency. So, I found a much cheaper hotel in Osaka and stayed for four nights. Then I took the train to Kyoto, and that's what I want to talk to you about. The most convenient way to get around is by train. If you want to do a round trip, they leave every 10, 15, or 20 minutes. Within Kyoto, there are many transportation options, primarily the subway, as well as taxis and Uber. I personally use Uber; it's a bit pricey, but they're incredibly punctual, they get you there immediately, and they're always on time. It's the most convenient method, in my opinion. You should keep this in mind when you come to Kyoto and to Japan in general. I started this tour at Fuchimi and Nari Taisha, one of Kyoto's most iconic temples, also known as the Path of 1000 Gates. Here, each torii gate represents a prayer for work, abundance, and purpose. It's one of the emblematic sites you have to visit in Kyoto. This temple was once highly revered because all Japanese people came here to pray for prosperity and abundance. It's a wonderful temple with an unimaginable spiritual peace. It's enchanting. You'll want to stay here all day without going anywhere else. Delighted with the peace and tranquility of this sanctuary. You can't imagine all the positive energy you feel here. And since we're here, we should ask for abundance, for prosperity, and give thanks. Here, everything is a promise of prosperity. The fuchinari isn't just walked through, it's honored at every step. The torii are the sacred gates of each temple, each shrine; it's the arch you pass through. It's usually venerated before entering. I'm trying street food here, Koto. These are like a kind of yosa. It's filled with pork and mushrooms. It's delicious. It has a sweet smell and taste. They're so good. Very tasty. Hello. I have the beef. I know. I know. Here. Can I here or there? Okay. Ah, okay. Thank you. Japan is known for a type of beef called wayu. These cattle don't receive any kind of medicine, any kind of medication, nothing. They're simply raised, uh, 100% natural. And something very important: these cattle are not harassed, there is no noise, they are in complete silence, and their meat is delicious and very well known. In the United States, and in other countries, a piece of meat can cost you up to 600, 500, 400, depending on the cut. Of the quality, 800, 900. Here I am in Japan and we're going to try it. Arigato. So let's try it and see how it is. Oh my God. This is exquisite. M, you can't imagine. Too good. First time I've tried it, by the way. Since this was so delicious, let's try the cob now . Excuse the pronunciation, but it's better than the guayu. I, unfortunately, good people, don't know how to eat meat. They say that meat is eaten medium-rare. I can't. My meat always has to be very well cooked. So I ordered it well cooked, by the way. And here comes mine. No, not yet. We're waiting. Let's try the famous Cob Beef. Thank you, ato. Look at this. How it looks. This is the cover. Too good. Let's see how it is. You can't imagine the flavor of this meat. Extremely delicious. My god. Mm. It has a slightly sweeter touch than aguayú, but it's absolutely exquisite. Something you should keep in mind is that this meat is very fatty, as you can see in the picture; that's what gives it its flavor. Let's try the last piece and savor it. Mmm. Absolutely spectacular. Divinely presented . This is one of the most famous methods of transportation in Japan: horse-drawn carriages. I had the opportunity to do it in Tokyo. It's a very fun experience, but expensive. Good people. Welcome to Qium Sodera, one of the most impressive temples in Japan. Built more than 12 years ago without using a single nail, it rises above a forest that seems to float. From its terrace, Kyoto unfolds like a living painting. These are typical Japanese houses in Kyoto. Very beautiful, classic with their sliding doors, modern style, but also conventional and old, always preserving Japanese culture. I love this country. A marvel. The topic of prostitution in Japan is completely prohibited; it's very sensitive. What happens? Anything involving vaginal penetration is completely prohibited in exchange for money, of course, but the government is permissive with other types of activities. For example, you can shower with a girl, she can give you a massage, you can be intimate, but with zero penetration. These places you see here right behind me are the famous love hotels, or "love" hotels, which is specifically known for these establishments. If you meet a girl and you make an agreement, you come here immediately. They don't have anyone checking you in. It's a machine, and you rent by the hour. It's a typical motel, but it's completely legal. So when you come to Japan and see the Love Hotels, you'll know what they're about. I'm in Yon, the heart of traditional Kyoto. Here, the cobblestone streets and teahouses seem frozen in time. If we're lucky, we might see a ge pass by silently, a living symbol of Japanese elegance. Every corner of Yon is a window into a Japan that still breathes history. This is a typical Japanese neighborhood with an ancient culture, a famous and spectacular atmosphere. I was just passing by and it was impossible not to order one of these ice creams. This one has three ingredients: brown, white, and green. We started with the green. The green is matcha tea. It tasted like matcha tea. The brown is sweet bean ice cream, just like you heard. The white… the white fell off. And the white is like a kind of rice base. Literally rice, matcha tea, and sweet bean. Something totally different, but it's good. Exquisite, I'd say. We've reached the end of this wonderful video, of this enchanting city, of this magnificent country that is Kyoto in Japan. It's been quite a wonderful experience to see all these temples, all these shrines, the traditional, typical Japanese things. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see a geisha, but we were on the street where they walk, and that's part of the essence. Thank you so much for watching. The best gift you can give me is a like, subscribing to the channel, and activating the bell so YouTube notifies you when I upload new videos. Thank you so much for your support, Arigato. See you at the next destination. No.
