If you’re wondering where to go this weekend, we’ve got three recommended events for December 20th (Sat) and 21st (Sun), including an event perfect for capturing the Christmas mood in snow-covered Sapporo, an exhibition where you can experience the world of popular anime, and activities that allow families to enjoy winter and snow.
1
Snow falls and creates a genuine Christmas atmosphere at the “Munich Christmas Market in Sapporo”

This Christmas event is a beloved winter tradition in Sapporo. The venue recreates the atmosphere of a Christmas market in Munich, Germany, with rows of wooden booths bathed in warm light and decorated with wreaths and holly. The snow that has fallen over the past few days creates a Christmas atmosphere.

Gourmet foods and drinks perfect for the cold season, such as mulled wine, sausages, hot chocolate, and pretzels, will be on sale, and general stores will stock Christmas ornaments, candles, and other items that make perfect gifts. During the period, there will also be special events such as greetings from Santa Claus, mystery-solving events, and advent calendars for children.
2
The world of the popular anime comes to Sapporo with the “Ryoko Kui Exhibition & “Dungeon Food” Labyrinth Exploration Exhibition”

This exhibition features the popular manga and anime “Dungeon Food” and the work of its original author, Ryoko Kui. The venue will feature over 150 pieces, including original drawings, manuscripts, and rough illustration panels from past works, such as “Dungeon Food” and “The Dragon’s School is on the Mountain” and “The Dragon’s Seven Cute Children.” Visitors will also be able to see valuable materials such as unpublished analog manuscripts and animation videos. Also on display will be some food samples and face-in-the-face panels in frog suits that allow visitors to experience the world of “Dungeon Food.”
