Quiet Autumn Walk Through OSAKA’s Famous Spots 🍁 | Japan Travel Vlog 🇯🇵

Hello everyone and welcome to beautiful Japan 🙂 Today, we are taking a long walk around Osaka, focusing on the bustling Umeda district. This is my first time here,
so let me take you along with me. You’re going to love the variety of architecture,
beautiful parks, and monuments. Let’s board the JR Railway H Line together
and head downtown for a relaxing day 🙂 It’s mid-October, so the leaves
are only starting to turn colors; but I’m staying a month, so I’ll definitely make
another video when autumn peaks. I have planned to visit touristy landmarks
and stroll around. I usually like to find a specific landmark
and get lost from there. There’s nothing better than embracing
the local life while wandering around. Let’s start with the stunning Osaka castle. I was enjoying the silence of this impressive open view… … when I suddenly remembered
this was the most touristy place in Osaka! So I quickly made my way to the back of the castle,
where crowds were less dense. There, I could appreciate the grandiosity of the castle, especially with such a sunny day
(I was supposed to film yesterday but it rained all day). A few facts: Osaka Castle was built in 1583
by warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a symbol of power. The castle grounds cover approximately 61,000 sqm (15 acres) Walking around the park feels so peaceful. I really don’t enjoy touristy places, but I really wanted
to see the castle on this trip. It’s such a majestic place, and I tried to make it work for me
despite the herds of visitors. I always try to find paths that are not too crowded. You’ll see many buses driving through the park while playing music… kinda ruins the peaceful vibes 🙁 Filming these videos pushes me to try to take
a different perspective on things, and finding my own style without getting
the same shots as everybody else. The colors really stand out today,
but I wish the leaves were even more red. I just love the blend of ancient and modern,
concrete and nature. Time to leave the castle and head to our next destination… Osaka is a very walkable city, with large sidewalks,
and numerous traffic lights that people obey. Here we are! Unfortunately, recording was not allowed inside,
so I just clicked a few pics from my phone that I’ll show you after a peaceful walk through the garden. The Fujita Museum is a private art museum and is one of the largest private collections in the Kansai region. It houses one of Japan’s finest private collections of traditional art, including samurai armor and calligraphy. As promised, here are the pictures I took: Walking through Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street
(longest covered shopping arcade in Japan – 2.5km long) I had lunch there because I wanted to check out
the 10th century Tenmangu Shrine. Was so looking forward to its stunning beauty…
but apparently the timing was off. The surroundings were not under renovation
and looked stunning, as everything in Japan always looks
pristine and well-maintained. One thing I’ve noticed in Japan is that shrines
are not as colorful as in Taiwan or Vietnam, yet they really give off this minimalistic,
while imposing energy. Walking around the grounds of religious places
brings me peace and tranquility. It makes me feel present and more aware of my surroundings. No, I didn’t go to Kyoto for an Instagram shot
(but I will go there this month, so stay tuned 🙂 TIme to take you to another landmark of the city. To be honest, I’m still struggling to navigate the public transporation network after 3 days here, butr I’ve decided to challenge myself to go check out
the 4th-busiest railway station in the world 🙂 Welcome to Osaka Station and its endless maze of corridors! It’s honestly nerve-racking to navigate this place
(I don’t know what I was thinking when I planned that). Finally some light and nature to calm me down… Haaaa, fresh air at last! I love the massive skyscrapers in this city,
they make me feel at peace somehow 🙂 This is where I’m trying to get to,
but I couldn’t find the entrance. So, following the crowd for once… Ok, we have the name on it, should be easy enough
from now on, right? Looks promising. Let me elevate myself and ride these escalators
as high as possible. Oh yeeeah, feeling like on top of the world! I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere in train stations
and airports, knowing that everyone is on a journey
to a different destination. The human game of chess… Was feeling too hot so decided to browse some shops. The shiny reflective effect of this urban landscape
looks so neat and polished. Interesting concept… I don’t know what to think about it, especially from this angle… Yeah, so those colorful chairs caught my eye… as well as those guys. But let’s not get distracted! I’ve brought you to one of the biggest attractions, the Umeda Sky Building. And you’re not gonna want to miss the view from the top… But first, I need to refuel after spending
all my energy on finding Osaka Station 🙁 With some fluffy pancakes :)) Ok, so if you plan to come here, take the escalator to the 3rd floor, and from there the elevator to the 39th floor. You don’t need tickets to ride the elevator,
they’re sold on the 39th floor. Something caught my eye again
(yes, I have very sharp observation skills). Start counting fast and don’t look down
if you have a fear of heights. You can open your eyes again 😉 After you buy the ticket, you can climb to the observatory. You have both indoor and outdoor viewpoints, and a coffee shop if you want to rest
or enjoy the view with your date. Love the geometry into the horizon,
gives me a true sense of freedom. The observatory is donut-shaped
and gives you a 360° view. I’ve always been obsessed with airplanes,
such a symbol of powerful technology and freedom. Ok, so I wanted to film a real sunset for you guys,
not a washed-out 4pm version, but the line of people on my way down convinced me
I’d made the right decision to come early. I had a great time up there, especially as it didn’t feel too crowded (I really don’t like crowds much) I’m going back home after a full day of walking,
eating, and filming. I’m quite beat,
but how can you not relish these vivid colors? Such a magical time of day. Unfortunately, back at Osaka Station to grab my train…
Oh man, I’m so low on energy, hope I can manage… Gotcha, on the right platform, and in the right direction! So I’m staying in Tokuan,
which is a 15-20min ride east of downtown. It’s a quiet residential area, and that’s what I always choose when renting a place for a month. Far from the noise, the tourists, but close enough
to visit any area in town. Thank you for coming along today, I hope you enjoyed the quiet visit and I’ll see you in our next video!
