JR Hokkaido to Revise Seat Reservation and Special Car Fees from March 14, 2026

JR Hokkaido will revise the seat reservation fees and special car fees for local and rapid trains starting March 14, 2026.

The seat reservation fee will be standardized at 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children. Trains operated with the SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen-go (SL Winter Wetlands Train) rolling stock are excluded. The special car fee currently applied to Green Cars on Home Liner services will also be raised to 1,010 yen (for travel within 50 kilometers) for adults.

For Rapid Airport services between New Chitose Airport and Sapporo in Hokkaido, the “conventional line ticketless reserved seat ticket” will be set year-round at 800 yen for adults and 400 yen for children. Ticketless products for Home Liner services will be offered at discounted prices at a level equivalent to current discounts.
