Miyajima & Hiroshima Vlog – Exploring local sights and new Hiroshima Pokemon Center!

Okay, good morning. It is day number I think this is the fourth third or fourth vlog. I’ve already lost track, but it’s kind of our proper day two here in Japan. So, we have once again woken up in Hiroshima. Um, unfortunately, it’s another rainy, soggy looking day up there. So, we knew this was a risk of coming in June, which is um during the rainy season, but it is not. Let me just pan around to show you what I’m seeing. I don’t know if the camera is going to pick it up as much, but it is cloudy and rainy and gross, but the view is still amazing. So, so yeah, we are about to head up to the hotel breakfast, grab some food, and then um we have to go ship our suitcases, and then we have to head over to the boat. Um because this morning we are going to Miaima Island to see the uh famous shrine that’s kind of propelled out in the uh the water. Um looking forward to that. It’s probably not going to be the best view because of how rainy it is. But maybe that’ll mean that it won’t be super busy on the island. That could be a good plus. But we’re excited for our next day out and about in Japan. So we will take you along with us. Never thought I believe in you. All right, we are off to Modima Island, but it is a rainy, gross, wet day here. So, got our umbrellas here. We got some fancy um they’re called Davic umbrellas before our trip. They’re like these super high quality ones that have like a lifetime warranty to them cuz we knew it was going to be the rainy wet season while we’re here. But we are braving the rain and going to make the mess of it today and should be good. Excited. Okay. Yeah, we’re on the uh boat and we just had to walk up to this is a uh boat terminal by Peace Park. Um and it’s just this little station and we bought tickets from a little counter over there and no that’s the book since I was reading. So, the bus t or the boat takes about 40 to 45 minutes, I think, and then we’re to Miaima Island and then we’re going to head back um kind of midday through the day and then um explore more. So, we’ll see what the island captain Mhm. So, this is our the little boat we’re on. It’s kind of a thankfully it’s all indoors cuz it is still raining quite heavily. So, I don’t know what views we’ll see on the way, but off we go. Future hold. Oh, I’ll be fine cuz we’ll be heading in the sun. So, you can let your hair down. I’ll hide all of your worries away. And we don’t have to go now. I wish I could live. It’s life on replay. No need to make plans. It’s all in your hands. I’m too busy. I’m spending all my time with you. Trapping through the states. Don’t know what to wait. It don’t matter. I’m spending all my time with you. Spending all my time. I’m spending all my time with you. spend it all. I’ll put your love on. Okay, we’ve made it to Miaima Island. About to get off and explore. Okay, we’ve arrived to Majima Island and we run into our first wild deer. Look at him. Hi He wants food. Hi. Hello, little beautiful. Oh my gosh, you’re such a cute boy or girl. Goodbye. I love you. That’s cool. What a cutie. I’ve never been that close to a deer. Wow. How was your first deer experience? He’s so comfortable around people. No, I know. Wow, it’s beautiful here, though. He doesn’t look very healthy. I think that’s what they usually look like. He’s fine. His legs look like they’re No, that’s what they all look like, though. Skips. They That’s what they all look like. I could use a I know. He wants food from us, though. You’re not supposed to eat them. Anyway, so yeah, we’ve arrived to the island. So, we’re just walking around and kind of going to go down the shopping street, and then we’re going to go check deer. Two deer. Yeah, a couple deer up here. Oh, that’s so cool. Look at them. Very neat. That’s going to be super zoomed in. H. It’s still raining, so it’s kind of hard to navigate and hold all the stuff we need to hold, but very beautiful so far. This deer trying to get in this shop here. Oh. Oh, these are Okay. I don’t think I like that. He’s just playing. Okay, we’re walking along this being a little bit of a bad boy. He deserved a little bit of a respect. Okay, so we’re walking along. I think this is their main shopping street. I I think it was called a met a meta sand. I don’t know. Um and we’re working our way to this thing depicted here, which is the Tor gate shrine out in the middle of the water. It’s a It’s a cusha shrine. Do you like the deer? Mhm. So cute. Beautiful island, but very rainy day, unfortunately. All right, we’re by the beach area, but look at this. Feel like it’d be even more beautiful in the uh in the summertime or or sorry, in the when it stopped raining, but there’s the famous shrine out in the water there. And so depending on the tide level, this water goes completely in or out. And then so this shrine sometimes is uh is fully submersed in water, but sometimes it’s uh there’s kind of no water around and it is just um you can actually walk up and and touch the shrine. But obviously right now it’s high tide. So we’re just kind of wandering around the uh along this walking path and working our way up there. Okay, we’ve made it to the main shrine park. We have some some deer here just doing their doing their thing. But then right out here we have the famous ita shrine I believe it’s called. Um and it’s just beautiful. Yeah, it’s right now it’s floating in the water. And you can kind of see the reflection right below it. Sorry. This guy’s doing a a kind of tour right here with these deer. Oh. Oh. Oh, some tricks. Oh, this guy, the mini guy next to him, he’s like, “Why don’t I have any?” No, he’s good boy. Oh my god, I love them. I’m trying to focus on the shrine, but they’re just so cute here. But like, yeah, look all around. I think it’d be much prettier in the in the sun, but like you can just tell all the mountains go around and everything. What do you think? Super cool. I love these cute deer. They’re my best friends. You like the shrine? Yeah. Oh, it’s gorgeous. Okay, we’re uh kind of working our way out and about more, but gorgeous here. Loving it. We’ve walked farther down, but look at all these gorgeous um I don’t know pagod type buildings I suppose. Beautiful. All right, we’re walking the island, but um we’re going to it’s called Dashuan temples. I thought this was a bat in the tree, but it’s just some leaves, but anyways, look at this little deer guy under the bridge here. I don’t know if you can see him, but he’s he doesn’t want to get wet and he doesn’t have an umbrella, the poor guy. So, but there’s this very cute little ravine going through the the little town here and we were just walking the streets and like I don’t know, we just saw the fire um department of the island. It’s so so like quaint and serene here. It’s beautiful. This like feels so Japanese. Mhm. We’re going to this place called Dash Dashan Temple, I believe. I wonder if these hold handles back in the day. Oh, yeah. Maybe light. Dashan Temple. Look, that’s what we’re looking for. So, it says go this way. Wow, look at this street. Mhm. Oh, I want a photo down there. Oh my gosh, it’s so pretty. So pretty. Mhm. Deep fried oysters there. I could maybe do a deep fried oyster. Oh my gosh. Look at this. Just like classic little Japanese street with your phone. We’re just walking these like serene side streets. This just feels so Japanese. Wow. We have this uh shrine entrance here which is beautiful. All right. So, we’re starting to see all the little boys. They’re so cute with their little their little hats. Then we’re going up here. And as we go up, we’re spinning these Can you show how to what we’re doing with these? So, you have to spin these little gold bells as you go up. And that’s uh I think something to do with good luck. But it is gorgeous here. Okay, we’re by this temple area and has instructions here to take off your shoes. So, we’ve just taken them off here and we’re going into this beautiful looking like look at the detail on the ceiling and stuff. Look at this mist. Where’s this? Where’s that come from? over there. There’s a machine or something. Wow. It’s like eerie. They have um some like sage or something burning. Wow, look at the mist steaming in from the windows there. Okay, now we’re walking the path with all these little statues and apparently they get knitted these little red hats and every statue was different from the one like there’s no two that are alike and there’s a whole maze of them. Okay, we’ve ended up in the we’ve walked down to the shopping street area again just to try to get away from the rain and we got a Starbucks coffee in this very traditional looking Starbucks. It’s beautiful. So, I got a black coffee and then we got a donut to share and we both look like drawn rats. Like I curled my hair this morning for probably no reason. Um, but yeah, what do you think of the the shrine area in the island? Super. Very beautiful. We love all the little all the little deer that are walking around and the like just the like nature here is is is gorgeous. Um, it’s definitely a little hard to navigate the umbrellas and the vlog and everything else we were trying to juggle. So, I don’t know if I got the best um videos, but really enjoyed it. So, I think we’re just going to eat this, walk down the shopping street a little bit more and then probably make our way back to Hiroshima. Um, not too too much to do here. I mean, on a nicer day, I know you can go all the way up the top of the mountain. You could either take the cable car or you can hike all the way up if you’re keen. Um, but not really on a day like today. I don’t think the view would be really worth, you know, working our way up there. So, yeah, it’s been a good day so far. And then we’re going to head back into the city and uh go do a little bit more shopping, I think. But great day so far. All right, this is the main little walking strip area with a bunch of kind of just little souvenir shops, food. I don’t know if we’re going to get too too much, but keep an eye out. Oh, Spencer’s seen something. He really wants a Hiroshima carp hat. That’s probably going to be back in the main Hiroshima area. Very nice. Write your name in Japanese, it says here. Oh, gotcha pon bot right here. The left. We love our gacha pan. Nice. Here we go, folks. All right. Hopefully these are the right coins now. All right. What does he got? Oh, literally the one you didn’t want. Oh, well. Oh, it could be Gengar. Okay, which is the one I want. Open it. Open it. One I want is Gengar. I just walked the shrine. Got a lot of good luck. Gosh. First ever got you put on. I think you got Gengar. Oh no. Literally your last your last one you wanted. He’s still cute though. Yeah, he is. This was Gengar. This photo is so I got I got But then I kind of knew with the blue too first. That’s cute. Yeah. What’s his name again? Piccolo. He’s cute. He’s me. He He’s He’s cute. He’s the one that that chose me. So nice. That’s cute. That’s fun. Yeah. Wow. Okay. So, it’s raining like crazy out here. But we just stopped at this little chopstick place and Spencer got a pair of chopsticks cuz he’s been wanting that from our trip. So, they have these beautiful like gold koi And then show we got it engraved. That’s his name. And his name in obviously English. It’s not really focusing. And then um in Japanese. Beautiful. Are you excited? So excited. It is. Okay. We just took uh we’re back at Hiroshima and we just took the uh cable car and walked a little bit to go to the Hiroshima Carp Stadium. So something Spencer is a big fan of is baseball and we looked up the different teams for the uh Nissan Baseball League, I think it’s called. And the Hiroshima Carp are one of the most famous and beloved teams here in um Japan. And so we wanted to come. Hopefully you can see me hear me. I might have to use this. Um, this uh this team is one of the most beloved here in Japan. Here, maybe this will help. Um, and something Spencer likes to do when we go to these different places around the world is to get a new baseball hat for the various teams around the world. And so we’ve walked here to go to their store and check out their stadium a bit. But on the way here, there was all these um uh Hashima Karp kind of manhole covers. Now we’re seeing all these I guess these are all the various players. And look at this fun little like I don’t even know what you’d call that. A manhole, I guess. But um I don’t think it’s a manhole. I think it’s a electric panel hole. Yeah, something like that. Anyways, and now we’re walking up to the stadium up here. Okay, we’ve made it to the stadium. It’s called Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium because I think the owner or I don’t know if it still is, but the uh owner of the baseball team here is the owner or something of Mazda, I believe. Anyways, it’s a very like well maintained, curated like all the shrubbery and everything is beautiful out here. We’re very bummed cuz the um we would have loved to come see a game because apparently it’s like such a cool experience to to do a game here, but they weren’t playing in town the couple days that we were here. But we are instead just coming to see the stadium itself. And it looks incredible. I see the store there. You see it? Mazda Zoom. Mazda Zoom Zoom. I think they maybe were playing today, but they’re in a different stadium. Here’s Mazda Zoom Zoom. Very fun. You happy? Oh, look. They got gacha ponds. They’re probably all here. Shakarp. Oh, all-star game. I wonder if that was held here. So cool. This is literally like a beautiful stadium. push. Wow. Very Oh, look. I wonder if you can Oh, do you have to pay for that? That like thing there? I think maybe you do have to pay. There must have been an all-star game here. That’s cool. Bunch of Hiroshima gacha pon. Super fun. And then the store is right through here. Never thought I’d believe in mirales. You made me realize that you’re the only one. Don’t need to tell me what the future holds. Oh, I’ll be fine cuz we’ll be airing in the sun. So you can let your hair down. I’ll hide all of your worries away. And we don’t have to go now. I wish I could live this life on replay. Don’t need to make plans. It’s all in your hands. I’m too busy. I’m spending all my time with you. Driving through the states. Don’t know what to waste. It don’t matter. I’m spending all my time with you. Spending all my time. Spending all my time with you. Oh, spend it all the time. Spend it all the time with you. I’ve seen your smile light up the darkest room. I’ll put your love on top cuz I know you will, too. You get more beautiful like flowers. Each Pokémon Center has a special Pikachu that’s exclusive to that center. And so, I think this is the Pikachu exclusive. He’s got a little maple sweater cuz they’re known for their maple snacks. Here he’s got a little like carp and Gyarados flag that he’s flying and a little hat. He’s so cute. And we don’t need to go. I wish I could start on replay. Don’t need to make plans. It’s all in your hands. I’m too busy. I’m spending all my time with you. Driving through the states. Don’t know what awaits. It don’t matter. I’m spending all my time with you. What do you think of this store? So sad. That’s so It’s so fun here. on the street car going home. All right, we are back in the room kind of looking like drawn rats. Um, it literally did not stop raining all day and like there was points where it was just chucking it down. So, not the best day to really tour around Hashima and Miaima. But, we honestly made the most of it. It really didn’t I don’t know. Once we we had our umbrellas, we had our rain goats like we were prepared and we knew that we were coming in the rainy season. Um, and if anything, I think it helped maybe keep the crowds down because everywhere we went was really not that busy. So I think that kind of helped. But yeah, successful day and it was particularly a successful day for Spencer. He has gotten quite the the little haul of items from the various shops and places we went. And so I am going to turn the camera around and he is going to guide us through all of the things that he picked up today. Although he is currently making a new garbage. Okay. Yeah. All right. So, you ready? Ready. All right. Here’s the lucky boy in question. This is him. Okay. All right. So, I’ll go in order of the transactions. Mhm. So, some of these some of these I think the vlog might have seen earlier, but you know, we should we should probably they’re all from today. I would love to see again. Like they’re all highly interesting items. So, we got this is new this wrap job because I lost the packaging and I didn’t want getting to be bouncing around cuz he’s he’s not even awake this guy. He’s that’s a cute little gacha pond. So, I tried my luck and he wasn’t my first choice but I’ve he was actually his last choice. Come to to love him. Yeah, cuz he’s he’s really a cute guy and he chose you. You know, he did choose me. It’s kind of like in Pokemon where it’s like I choose you. He choose He chose you as his trainer. Exactly. So, you know, we we had him up here earlier and I probably will again later, but I don’t like to leave things in the sun. So, that’s why he was wrapped up in the Kleenex. Well, what son? But there’s still there. So, that’s Pipop. We think he’s he’s a good accessory up there on the the bedboard cuz he’s he’s sleeping. That’s where we sleep. So, that was the first purchase. little gotcha pan. Nothing too crazy. But second one was a pair of chopsticks. Japanese chopsticks because I it’s something that I’ve started to practice more and more in the last couple years is is eating Asian food with chopsticks and absolutely love Asian food. Uh like Thai Express for example, we get that all the time and yeah, I just think it’s a skill that um is kind of neat. Like I would love to continue practicing and and someday just be able to to polish off, you know, a meal of the speed that someone can with a fork and and uh and impress people. So So these are my chopsticks. They’ve got a neat oriental Japanese design on them, which Megan picked these for me, but when they’re side by side, you can see a carp, which is very uh I feel like that could be a koi, but it could be a carp. I I actually don’t know the difference between them, but but they’re um that’s a carp, I’m pretty sure, but which is a a very significant uh fish to and symbol in Hiroshima. The baseball team’s called the carp. We’re going to get to that in a sec, but um yeah, so it’s got this this neat design, but then also for free, no charge, they if if you were willing to wait four minutes, they would uh write your name in English and Japanese or or one or the other. But, uh, I decided to get both. So, that’s Spencer in Japanese. Very cool touch. Very cool. And they’re, uh, dishwasher safe. So, I’ll be using these when I get home. I mean, chopsticks are of course everywhere in Japan. So, I mean, when we go to the 7-Eleven, they we’re getting a bunch of these. So, I’m going to use these on the trip. No reason to dirty the the good ones. The good ones. But when I get home, you know, these are harder to come by. So, I’m going to have my own personal set, continue my my trade. Mhm. That was the second. And then we went to the baseball stadium, which I said was going to be relevant with the carp because the Hiroshima team is called the Hiroshima Toyo Karp. So, we went to the stadium, got some cool pictures, beautiful stadium, um, state-of-the-art. like I would say it’s it’s it’s newer and um more, you know, futuristic and developed and maintained than a lot of the American major league stadiums. But at the same time, I mean, I don’t know when that was renovated or built, but a lot of the American stadiums uh are in need of renovations, but they’re also neat because they’re so old, right? Mhm. But it it was pretty fascinating to see um the amount of money that’s obviously gone into that theme. And um we got this program for free at the door, which I really like the the design of the cover and that’s going to probably make its way into the man cave. Um inside, you know, I was wishing it was going to have more about the players, but it does have a little bit, but it’s predominantly uh their merchandise. But that’s kind of cool. Kind of cool. And this was free. It was just at the front door and we thought maybe it was like something we had to buy, but she just threw it right into the bag when we were checking out there. So, and typical Japanese. It opens the mango, right? So, very neat. That was free. That’ll go in the cave. I’m going to try and keep that pristine. And then we got a couple more free just, you know, carp type the brochure or the uh schedules and and things like that. So, we’ve been trying to pick up things like that just for our little memory. Um we have like a little binder at home where we keep some of those little freebie things from the various trips we take. So, so there’s that. And then the big item I was going to get a hat, uh a Hiroshima carp hat. made a lot of cool like kind of 47 branded like kind of dad floppy hats with different images and you know Japanese writing and all these different styles and I was I was I had picked one out but um you know typical price for a hat they were like $45 for this this hat whereas I then saw the jerseys which typically like an MLB jersey is you know $200 or so like the hat is the the thing you pick up on a budget. Um, but the jerseys here were $85. So, um, the hat was half the price of the jersey. So, I I took a liking to the jersey and I got my lucky number, the number that I if if possible I wear on the ball field, number 10. And it’s also the same uh it was a the number 10 player. His last name is Tai. T A I. He was actually featured on the like a a giant uh image of him in the store. So, um you know, obviously a predominant player, my number and this and he was he’s obviously popular because this was the only jersey that only had one left. Mhm. And uh it’s a size large. I would have gotten an extra large if they had it, but I think the large will will fit. And I actually have been very excited to put this on. And I kind of forgot. I’m gonna explain it in a sec. But the way that I would wear this, I would not wear it. You would just leave it open even. Yeah. So, it doesn’t really matter as much if it’s somewhat Oh, so it says his name on the back. So, there’s the front. So, number 10 on the front. Karp. Doesn’t say Hiroshima anywhere, but it just says Karp. And then Yeah. Okay. So, I kept seeing this weird red streak down the bottom. And that must be like on all the jerseys, which is Yeah. No, it’s I saw it all in the store. Can you do the flip and show me the other side? So, Sasaki. Oh, I thought that was his first name. I know. Me, too. But unless maybe the Japanese it’s first then last, you know, maybe written or I just read or wrong. Yeah. So, yeah. And the large I mean, it fit, but it was a bit tight, which is common with Japanese attire, just sizes. Everything here is not meant for like the Japanese I think just in general are smaller in their build and so everything that we’ve tried on here is is like we need like extra large but yeah we never wear green under so this isn’t the best demonstration but oh it says on the the arm that’s cool oh sick can I see that yeah that’s neat okay I like that it says that yeah and it’s it’s made by Mizuno stitch pitched. Mizuno is uh is that the same stadium or uh the ones that do MLB? Nike makes major leagues. See, it buttons up like it’s a little like you wouldn’t want to play a game in that size, but it’s a little tight, but it’s fine. But I kind of had forgotten that the style you’d probably wear it is just kind of back open. But I think he’s going to mostly want to hang this in our So in our basement, he’s got um Turn around. But I just want to see the back a little bit better. Yeah. So, it’s weird that they have this red red striped down the bottom, but like all the jerseys had that. So, yeah, we’ll have to look it up. But I I that is cool that it says uh Sasaki or Sasakai. We’re probably saying his last name wrong, so we’re sorry. Or his first name. I don’t even know what name that is, but very cool. Very cool. Um I’ll keep this cuz we can bag it back up. Bag it back up. Um, and then the final store we went to was the Hiroshima Pokemon Center, which his favorite store he’s ever seen, which is brand new, only a month old. It used to be in a different location, but a month or two, I can’t remember, but pretty recent. So, we got the exclusive. Mhm. Can you move it? Not the mirror kind of backlog. Yeah. Pikachu plush. Yeah. So, every Pokemon center in Japan, well, just anywhere in the world has an exclusive little Pikachu plush. And so, this is the little Hiroshima one. So, he’s got a little maple le or like maple cuz they’re their product here. We’ve been seeing them sold everywhere, but these little maple cookie things. Obviously, maple is their thing here. And then we have he’s got a little baseball cap and he’s got and then he’s holding this little banner that has a Gyarados and a Magikarp because that’s the the theme of the carp the little um like every Pokemon center I think has like a a mascot that represents that specific store. So this one is just definitely like the Gyarados. But it was such a it was such a cool story. You loved it in there, eh? Yes. And we got to be careful with this tag. I’m already bending it a bit, but that’s the Kiroshima exclusive. Yeah. And then we got a couple more things while we were there just to kind of round up the bill cuz, you know, and uh we got a couple So, everything else is in this bag. It’s kind of even just a cool bag. Um and Pokemon sticker. Like, man, Pokemon is at the top of the game. I really don’t want to rip that, but I guess I got to It’s not What can you do? So, in in here we got um So, this is the newest. Oh, okay. Yeah, I’ll just show you first. So, the stickers I got these are called B-Label stickers. I don’t know. I’ve never had one, but they look pretty sweet. And I got uh two for two different purposes. one. I’m gonna put the Dratini. He fits nicely. Why’d you pick Datini? I just thought he was cool. I’ve always liked Datini and and I’m a big like second evolve guy. Okay. Because they don’t get as much attention. So that’s what Dragonite turns into, right? Mhm. Yeah. Dratini. No, Dratini turns into this and then this turns into Dragonite. Okay. But Dratini I I’ve always loved it. So, uh, that’ll go on my phone. And then and I like that it says the presumably the name of the Pokemon in Japanese there, you know. Exactly. So I actually had a instead of a Mewtwo, I got a there was a Mewtwo and a Mew, which was really cool. And I first picked that up, but then as I turned around to leave, I noticed that didn’t have the Japanese. And to Megan’s point, I I see it closer. So this guy’s going to go The other one, as I showcased, is on the back of my phone. This one I’m going to put on the front of my Kindle because it is Mewtwo themed already. You know, with the case, it’s kind of a galaxy theme and Mewtwo kind of blends into that. Um, but then inside I’ve already got and I’m realizing now that my case is like falling apart as we speak. So, um, maybe glue that together or something. Yeah. Hopefully this case holds up. But I already got a Mewtwo kind of graphic in there with my name and everything. So, very neat. Kind of cool. And then finally, to make a short vlog short, we got the new um Japanese Pokemon set that just came out like this past weekend, I think. So, it’s called Black and White. And as you can see, there’s I think it’s Black Bolt and White Flare or something. Yeah, you’re right. So, yeah, these are the black ones. I got two of those. three of the whites and I’m gonna keep two of them sealed and put them in my sealed booster collection and then I’ll rip these other three and try my luck. Mhm. But that was pretty lucky cuz we this set only came out literally I think what four or five days ago maybe and um we’ve gone to a couple places uh just in the last couple days and they’ve all been sold out. So we thought it was lucky that they still had those in stock. So, another Pokemon thing I got just while we’re on the theme because I don’t know if I ever showed this. Oh, I think we showed getting the magazine, but we didn’t show the actual card that came in it, which was the main draw. Yeah. Which is a So, this was from the that magazine that we picked up at the airport yesterday, but Cororo Cororo Ion it was called. And every well, we think every uh magazine every month they have a like or oftentimes at least they have a specific Pokémon card that comes in it. And so we got this one, which didn’t come in this protector, of course. It just came loose, which is always sketchy. And so we got this protector yesterday, but it’s and bought a protector that I can display it in and and wait, just hold comfortably transported. So yeah, so it’s a matt meowit. And then in the corner here, that’s it. The magazine name is And then over here is the uh set stamp, which is like very neat. So Spencer has been cleaning up is what we’re saying. And he’s a very lucky boy. If anyone’s wondering, I haven’t gotten anything. Well, I got that Yoshi shirt from yesterday. We have been buying our lunches, dinners. Yeah, she’s been eating all Yeah. Well, some of you, but anyways, we’re not counting. No, he’s definitely more of the souvenir person around here. I’m more of like the experience of the trip is is more my thing and and capturing it on this vlog is like more of of maybe my interest, but I’m sure I will be grabbing something particularly from later on in the trip when we go to Disney. That’s more of uh my speed. Although I I love the Pokémon and all that stuff, too. So, the other thing is this is like right up my alley, this trip. We knew this was going to be trouble. This is like this is truly everything Spencer loves in life. So like baseball, Pokemon, Disney, just like this is this is truly his his mecca. And we’ve known it for years that like when we finally get to Japan, he’s going to go wild. And you know, we’ve been in Japan now like 2 days proper, he’s already going wild. But you know what? It’s fine. And this is what we save our money for throughout the year is is is to do and and get experiences like this. And we’re we feel very fortunate. So anyways, but yeah. So the plan for the rest of the night, I have to shower because my hair looks horrendous after a couple wet days walking out and about. Um we have to clean up the room here, kind of get everything packed up because in the morning we head to Osaka for the second part of our trip, which will be very exciting. Osaka is kind of a city that I’ve been definitely looking forward to and it’s I believe the second biggest city in Japan. So, it’s uh it’s going to be a bit of a I guess step up in terms of busyness from from Hashima here. Um so, we’re super looking forward to that. And uh so yeah, I think I think with that this is a super long cliff. I might end the vlog for the day because the rest of the day we’re really kind of just hanging around here and um getting settled before moving on tomorrow. But successful day, super fun day. I mean, obviously earlier in the day we went to Miaima Island, too, which was beautiful. Um really enjoyed it there. Bit of a bummer that it was rainy, so I feel like our view was a little bit stunted in terms of like seeing all the mountains and stuff in the background, but honestly, it it was fine. And like the rain kind of was like a different vibe. like it it really felt like kind of jungly and like I don’t know we we didn’t really mind it and we made the best boat uh the most of it. So lovely day. I I know a lot of people when on their Japan trips like I feel like Hashima is not as popular of a destination compared to maybe some of the other places that we’re going. A lot of the people I follow haven’t made their way down here. But I totally think it’s it’s a city that you should carve out time to to see on your um trip. Obviously, it has the historical significance of the, you know, the very unfortunate events of the atomic bomb, but as we’ve seen today, like it’s got beautiful nature and um, you know, cool shopping experiences, too. So, uh, definitely happy we we made our way here. And with that, I think we will say goodbye and good night to the vlog. I I’m I’m really trying to to get clips. So, I’m really hoping that um we’re able to stream string together something out of these videos and and hopefully uh you know, more than maybe just my my mom is watching, but if you are watching, mom, hope you’re enjoying it. And yeah, with that, we will say good night. Do you want to say good night? Good night. Night vlog. See you in the morning. So I know her.

Welcome to my (very delayed-sorry!) third video from our Japan vlog series! 🥹🇯🇵 Join me (Megan) and my husband, Spencer, on our first ever (and highly anticipated) trip to Japan.

In this video, we take the “Aqua Net” boat from Hiroshima Peace Park to Miyajima island. We see local free roaming deer, visit “Itsukushima Shrine” and “Daisho-In Temple” and wander the famous “Omotesandō Shopping Street”.

We then visit “Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium” (home of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp Baseball Team!) and visit the newly re-opened Hiroshima Pokemon Center. We end off with a haul of our purchases so far.

Please stay tuned to also follow along as we spend the next two weeks travelling around Japan, including Hiroshima, Miyajima, Osaka, Universal Studios Japan, Kyoto, Tokyo and Tokyo Disneyland! We hope you enjoy our videos!!

  1. I need to find a way to that Pokémon Center! I was at the old one years ago but the renovations look spectacular! 😍
