On a cold rainy day, as if signaling the start of winter, I’m heading to my own art studio in nature. What will today’s camping site, deep in the winding mountains, look like? A tranquil lake is visible between the towering trees, like soaring poles. Hello, I am YeonYoo. As soon as I arrived at the camping site, the wind and rain began to rage. I don’t know when the rain will stop, so I need to hurry and build a safe little house for us. This cabin really shines in this kind of bad weather. There’s nothing more healing than listening to the sound of rain in a cozy space. This scenery makes even bad weather look charming. It feels even colder after getting a little rain, so I need to light the wood stove first. I installed a new wood-burning stove and used it last time. I don’t think I need to worry about the cold. I think the wood-burning stove has really enhanced the cabin’s ambiance. The only downside is that it requires quite a bit more firewood per day than I expected. 😅 Now that it’s warmed up, should we call our little OkHee? Tomboy OkHee was excited again today. The rain that had stopped has started falling again. The wind and rain are raging, so fierce that the leaves are flying wildly. It seems to have finally calmed down a bit. I need to hurry up and clean up the house and enjoy this free time. My favorite red day, Christmas, is just over a month away. I’m still excited about Christmas, to be honest. While listening to the rain and doing various things, the afternoon has already flown by. I take a breather and take a break to admire the scenery. The sun sets over the lake, which has become calm as if nothing had happened. To satisfy my hunger, I’m going to try making hotteok, a classic Korean winter snack. This is a nostalgic snack I always ate at the market when I was young. (Milk) It’s not the thin, sweet, filling-filled, veteran hotteok, but it’s still delicious. It’s the perfect Korean appetizer to whet your appetite. I prepared some sweet pumpkin, OkHee’s favorite. OkHee has skin allergies, so I try not to give her meat. Admirably, she enjoys everything I give her. Today’s menu is kimchi sujebi and cabbage pancakes. First, let the sujebi dough rest for at least 30 minutes. (Potato) (Onion) (Scallion) (Green and Red Peppers) I liked the movie Little Forest, and this is the menu the main character ate. It’s about finding yourself through a rural lifestyle and eating foods derived from nature. But does this dough stick like this? Eating just one would be enough to fill me up 😅 Cabbage pancakes are just cabbage coated in batter, but they’re delicious. I’ll enjoy it. I like it because it tastes like kimchi without any special flavor. It was a mealtime where the line, “Eating is a living, that’s life after all,” came to mind again. My subscribers loved the comment event I prepared for my last video, so I’m going to prepare another gift. This is a magnet made with my travel drawings. What I’m making now is a one-of-a-kind handmade magnet. When I travel abroad, I do the same. I ended up buying a magnet as a souvenir. So I thought, why not make a magnet of all the places I’ve traveled to? I started making it. This is Hamdeok Beach in Jeju Island, South Korea. I’m going to try using magnetic tape, but I’m not sure if it’ll stick well to the fridge. Oh! It sticks so beautifully.☺️ I’ll give this away through a raffle from the comments. (ex: I will participate in the event) I was drawing and playing around, and time has already passed. I think a heater would be safer than a kerosene heater, so I’m going to sleep with the heater on. Sweet dreams~ Good morning. It feels even colder this morning, maybe because we’re in the mountains. OkHee doesn’t seem to be planning on getting up yet. I’m going to start the day sweetly with cocoa. A morning filled with the chirping of birds in nature seems to clear my head. As I was looking at the morning scenery, the feeling of this painting suddenly came to mind, so I sketched it out. When I came out and looked at the scenery, it was a completely different view of the lake than when I saw it from the truck. OkHee, who loves people, can’t hide her excitement when she meets the owner and his wife of this place.☺️ I think the happiness I get from spending time with good people, even if it’s short, is immense. I’m planning to make some simple French toast for breakfast. The delicious smell is making OkHee hungry. OkHee, who didn’t eat breakfast right away, is finally starting to eat it. I’m planning to have breakfast while drawing today. I wonder if there’s another studio as nice as this one? I recently came across a video of someone with a similar truck camper experience to mine. The video quality was so good, and since I have a similar truck, I left a comment and asked them a few questions. I later found out that he was much older than I thought. For a moment, I realized I’d unconsciously set an age limit for certain things. What’s your current pace of life like? Actually, compared to the people around me, I live a much slower life. But I feel happier than ever right now. The main character in the movie, who eats homemade side dishes instead of quick delivery… A camping YouTuber who’s older than average but still makes his own videos… The fact that they find their own pace, not the average standard, resonated with me. (You can see the detailed process and finished product at the end of the video.) It’s a shame, but it’s time to wrap up and go.
