Well, the pop star and the politician have reached a new milestone: Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have gone Instagram official. Perry hard launched the relationship with a new round-up from her recent trip to Japan as part of her tour—and the carousel included quite a few glimpses of her relationship with the former Canadian prime minster.

One slide featured a sweet couples selfie in a park, with Trudeau and Perry cuddling up cheek-to-cheek and smiling into the camera in coordinated jackets. There was also a cute black-and-white video in which Perry ate sushi as Trudeau wrapped one arm around her back. The final slide saw the couple gazing up at what appeared to be a sparkling art installation.
“tokyo times on tour and more ( ◠‿◠ ) 🎄🍣🐡🥞💐☃️♥️,” she captioned the carousel.

It seems that Perry and Trudeau have been going from strength to strength since they were first linked in July. Earlier this week, the pair were spotted holding hands in Japan. They also paid a visit to the former Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, posing for a photo that was later published on Instagram. Kishida referred to Perry as Trudeau’s “partner.” And, just a few months ago, the pair stepped out hand-in-hand while celebrating Perry’s 41st birthday.
Last month, a source told People that the couple are now “making plans for the holidays.”
Perry and Trudeau are both coming into the relationship off the back of other long-term partnerships. Perry split from her partner Orlando Bloom earlier this year, while Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégroire split in 2023. She recently spoke out about her ex-husband’s new relationship, saying, “We’re human beings and stuff affects us. Normal. How you react to stuff is your decision. So I choose to try to listen to the music instead of the noise.”
Meanwhile, Bloom has also made a more subtle comment on his ex’s new relationship, commenting with clapping emojis on a joke article from The Onion entitled “Orlando Bloom Spotted At Dinner With Angela Merkel.”
