Okinawa: Best 3-Day Food & Travel Guide (2025) Without a Car (Japan)

Welcome back, guys. Today we are showing you how to explore Okinawa without renting a car. We’re spending three full days eating amazing food, visiting unique spots, relaxing by the beach, and discovering places you can access using just the Montreal buses, and walking. From spicy local curries and traditional Yukqt to seaside sunsets in Okinawa’s most colorful neighborhoods, this is the perfect Okinawa trip, even if you don’t drive. Today we’re beginning our journey right here in Naha. Today it’s all going to be about walking. That’s all we’re going to be doing. Big big thank you to Cooko Care for making this Okinawa trip possible. More on their amazing Okinawa care package later. So, we’re heading over to this cafe that I love to go for breakfast. I’ve been there three times already in the past. Um, it’s a little bit noisy cuz they’re doing construction today all around, but uh the food’s really good there. Vibe is good there. So let’s go. So we are sitting at the green cafe teras seat. This place is shinichi’s favorite. So we came here. Mine is skillet set. Skirit set comes with salad, pancake and a choice of your favorite drink, breakfast. I need coffee. Oh, ice coffee. It’s tasty. Nice bitterness. This one comes with sausage, I think. And the grud vegetables. sauce. M so juicy and herby and nice sweetness texture good very tasty sausage. This is perfectly cooked egg and pepper works really good. Let’s try pancake. This pancake syrup flavor is coto brown sugar. M nice tangy and flavorful dressing and very fresh salad. It’s a very good day starting. This is the asai bowl and it comes with a drink of choice. I got a matcha latte ice uh additional charge of 110 yen. If you get a coffee or tea, there’s no extra charge, but I love the matcha latte here. And the asai bowl, oh my god, it’s one of my favorite asai bowls today. They have apples and you got grapefruit, kiwi, red dragon fruit, maybe peach there. Got granola, coconut, blueberries. Not sure what that is. That’s a white dragon fruit. And then you got local bananas as well as orange. So, let’s try a little bit of the acai with granola and coconut. M. M. That’s so good. Dragon fruits are grown locally here. It’s so good. I find the red dragon fruit sweeter than the white one. And then we got some loca bananas with a little bit of acai. M. So sweet. I think um right now like banana is in season. So Okinawa is famous for fresh fruit. So this is something I absolutely recommend you guys try. If you like fruits, definitely give this asai bowl a try. So after that extremely satisfying breakfast, we’re going to go to Makishi Market. This market was established in 1950, so has a very, very long history. We’re going to go there because our favorite Japanese pickle shop is located inside there. We featured them on our very first Okinawa video a long, long time ago, but we’re going to go back there and say hi. So, this place is really fun to explore. You have lots of uh shops selling meat, fresh seafood. You got like souvenir shops. And on the second floor there’s there are restaurants you can eat uh local Okinawan food. But once again, we’re here to check out the pickle shop. So this is the shop. Our favorite favorite show. Nice family run this shop and their pickles are so good. So, I’m trying the the shellfish in kimchi sauce. Never had this before. M. Oh my god. So good. So, this is just a salted uh shiakeio. This is the one you really have to get. And this is the bitter melon uh in vinegar. Oh my god. Okay, I really like this. But you know what? We’re going to get our usual. We’re going to we’re going to do the um the Goya, which is bitter melon. And we’re going to get some of the the island shallots. So so delicious. Bought some pickles. You want to see what I got? So we got two of the Shimalako kimchi, the katobushi, and we got the bitter melon in Naha. Kaii is a main street, but the side streets are also very fun to walk. And here is Hwa Dori Shopping Arcade. And we came to Dugu Cafe and Okinawa sweet shop. And in front of the shop, they have a gigantic local brown sugar block. I’m going to take a bite of the cocoa itself. Actually, the local people snap on the cocoa and they say it gives them a lot of energy. I actually do this too, especially during the hot summer months in Tokyo. We have a bag of this at home. And the reason why they sell kokto here at this shop is because they actually use this in their sata and so good. You have to try that as well. And the one thing I do at home and they sell it this way as well is that it they mix the cocoo with milk. So you get uh brown sugar milk. It’s so good. You know, cocoo is so different to me from regular sugar. It has more depth and complexity. It has a richness, a slight bitterness, and earthiness. It’s so, so delicious. Of course, we had to pick up a bag of cocoo to take back with us. And you can also find a bag of cocoon syrup and cocoonut snacks inside the Cocoo care Okinawan care package. It is time for lunch. We’re both a little bit hungry. Let’s go get something to eat. We are walking on Lugori to eat lunch. This is the very first time we’re trying this place and it’s supposed to be an Okinawan curry shop. Uh recommended to us by our friends at Niji Cafe where we have talked about before on a previous video. But uh this street um has some really nice isakayas. There’s a yatai mura where where there’s like a variety of food that you can enjoy. Also this street is where you can find the shi that we’ve tried before as well. In fact, this uh curry shop is located in the same building as the Shisa Pan place but on the second floor. Okay, so this shop is called Gachi Maya and Gachaya means a person with a big appetite. And this place specializes in Okinawan style dry curry. The shop itself is cozy. It’s really nicely decorated. I love it. And the owner is super friendly. I decided to get their signature dry curry. I got the one with all the toppings which is called the king and I got it as a lunch set which comes with a drink of choice and dessert. The curry itself is made with a local ingredients and then it’s topped with the owner’s signature pickles. So I got the king so it’s topped with raisin, tomatoes, and a poached egg up there. Okay, let’s give it a try. And I also see cheese as well. I’m so excited. M m. It’s a little bit on the sweet side, but it’s also very savory and super super flavorful. The rice is cooked perfectly, and you can really really taste the meatiness of the pork, the juiciness of the pork. And you can also taste the different um herbs and spices that he use in his curry. The pickles give it a really nice added acidity, which kind of like balances out the sweetness. And if you guys like it a little bit with a kick, well, you have a whole bunch of options here. Look at this. There’s like um so many things here. You have Tabasco, of course. Uh death sauce, which I’m staying away from. You have Shimasco, which is like the Okinawan version of Tabasco, and is one of our favorite favorite um hot sauces in Japan. We use at home. We do like I I like to put this on everything like in ramen, what else? stir fries, like so many things. It’s so good. And it’s different from your regular Tabasco because I believe they’re using shiquasa. Try it with a little bit of the shiasa hot sauce. M. That is it. I swear adding that hot sauce really I shouldn’t say elevated, but it just adds the extra oomph that you sometimes crave. It’s so good. And I like the fact that they use shiuasa, the indigenous citrus fruit. It has a different flavor from lemon or lime. Delicious. And the curry is fantastic. So the good part of traveling without rent a cup is I can drink beer. Cheers. And I ordered kind of pasta dish made with Okinawa soba. Okinawa noodles. Okinawa Okinawa pork berry and Okinawa sweet miso with asa the dried seaweed m the sweet miso taste come to my mouth and assa has a oceanic aroma this is so nice and this noodles it’s chewy the good chewiness so pokey juicy umami M very comfortable flavor. Oh, and of course it’s very tender. So dessert. This is coto print. Brown sugar pin. Oh my. Casty taste paired with coto flavor. It has a richness. The coto richness. I want you to try the coto taste. Real cockto taste. It’s really tasty. And of course it’s so smooth. The not overly sweet. Just right. This is a very good. So at the very far end of all the winding shopping streets, you will find Yachi Mundori aka Pottery Road. This is a very historical area with over 300 years of history and is definitely one of our favorite places to walk around. So at the very entrance of this road, you’ll find that Suboa Pottery Museum. Highly recommend you go inside. It’s very, very informative. It will give you an appreciation of Yachimun or Okinawan pottery. Along this street, there are so many pottery shops. Yes, it’s so interesting, especially if you are into pottery and ceramics. Well, the beginning of the street, you will find mostly shisa shops selling the uh the lion statues that you can see everywhere here in Okinawa. And then as you go deeper into the street, you will find shops selling yachimun, very traditional ones as well as more modern ones. And what I really love about this street is that it’s quiet. It’s a cobblestone. It really feels like you step back in time. It’s just so so relaxing. This street wines and cubs. So I get excited wondering what kind of shops are waiting just around the next bend. So our absolute favorite cafe in this area is Cafe Bukubu. It’s located along this cobblestone street. And unfortunately they’re closed today. But this is where you can try the traditional Okinawan buku bukuku tea. And almost at the end of this street, if you make a left up the hill, you can find this really beautiful street that looks like uh you have time warp into the past. This is where you can find the Araki residence. It’s the only remaining uh potter house from the past. And you can actually go inside and check it out on the weekends and holidays only. their clothes on all other days. You can actually see the kiln from the kiln that they used to use from way back then. I also like this wall here made up of tiles and uh ceramics. And here is a nice lunch place called Nigafu. This building is the former radio station and now transformed into a restaurant. They serve a very tasty traditional Okinawa cuisine. I actually think the best way to explore Naha is on foot like this. You know, there’s so many winding streets, not just this area, but all over Naha. I mean, go all the way to the end of the streets and you’ll find another winding road. It’s a lot of fun. So much atmosphere and so many surprises waiting for you around the bend. So, we came to Okinawa Tea Stand Samping to enjoy Okinawan traditional tea. This shop is specialized in sampin tea which is jasmine tea. I got something special. Mango sampin milk tea. Sin tea with milk and mango. M. Oh, this is nice. I love mango and I can enjoy the mango flavor. The beautiful tea flavor. It’s combined with milk and mango flavor so nicely. And I decided to go with something simple, the plain sin. Cheers. M. It’s so good. You know, you can find this tea everywhere in Okinawa. You can find it at all the vending machines. You can find at supermarkets. In fact, you see more sampin tea than your typical green tea. For example, since we’re sitting down and relaxing, this is the perfect time to tell you guys about this, the tropical taste of Okinawa. This includes some of our favorite items from Okinawa, including the Shimasco pepper sauce, smoked island tofu, mozzuku seaweed soup, Okinawan brown sugar syrup, and the brown sugar coconut chunks, and two varieties of Okinawan tea, including a box of the famous sapicha. We love and use these products ourselves, so we think you will enjoy them, too. Just click on the link in the description to find out more about this very special Okinawa package. This is the lovely owner. Please come and say hello to her. Yay. Hello. Thank you. She makes the best sin tea. Good evening everybody. So, it is dinner time and we are at one of our favorite favorite places to have dinner in the city of Naha. This is like our secret hideout. It’s a place we actually don’t want to tell everyone, but we’re going to tell you. So, this place is called Yamuri, which translates to gecko. So, you just have to look for the gecko uh logo. Uh it’s kind of hard to find and it is on the third floor of this building and this place specializes in aamorei which is the drink of choice here in Okinawa. When we first came to this place I couldn’t drink aami. I couldn’t appreciate it. I actually didn’t like it. I didn’t know enough about it and I came here and after one night I became a convert. I love aamod now. So I’m trying this one called Zampa uh8. And this is really interesting cuz it’s made with uh banana yeast and then this one is mixed with some uh soda water. M this is really good. I I like it. It tastes like alamony. So you can taste the rice but in the background you get like the aroma. You get like a like a tinge of banana. My aamorei is ura. This is mixed with water. The texture m flavorful depth. First dish came with tomato salad. M. Oh wow. You know the chef here really knows how to combine flavors in my opinion. The flavors are so well balanced. Next we ordered the assorted sashimi platter. We have the local octopus from Kama Island. Kimeak clam, which we’ve never tried before. Sugi, this is a fish. We also got the tuna, which is caught locally as well. Oh wow, the texture is so fresh. And what I mean by that is that, you know, the tentacle part, I’ve never experienced it before, but it’s like kind of like pops in your mouth. Like the texture is so so fresh and perky. This one is called yuku sugi. It’s in English it’s kopia. We eat kachi in Tokyo. Whatever is similar to nice fattiness. The next dishan mis pork is marinated with miso and on top sesame paste. Tender pork meat with a sweet miso flavor. Okay. Okay, so the next dish we have is agitashi dofu, which is deep fried tofu. But this is special because they’re using a very, very special local tofu. M. It’s super crispy outside. Crispy, but very lightly crispy. The green onions, the buto flakes, and some kind of like sweet soy sauce on top. And I’m sure it’s going to go with my next alamorei, which is something called kari haru sam. It’s supposed to go with a soybeans. So here we go. This is on the rocks. It’s as if this was made for that. Incredible. This is shimabao. This one is steamed with variety of ingredients. It’s really soft. It’s melting in my mouth. Today’s the last dish. This is Shimarako fried rice. Shimarako is a local. Oh my. This shimakio taste is here. I’m so sad that this meal is coming to an end because this definitely is one of the highlights of our trip to Okinawa. We had a pretty long day today. We had so much food. We’ll see you guys tomorrow in the morning. Good morning everybody. Good morning. Day two is starting. Today is a mon day. We are going to go to Shiri Castle first. Yeah, very important place especially for first- timers. Here is a station of Mon. It is called U. To get Monika credit card and card, right, which is the local Suka. At all Uri rail stations, you’ll find stairs, escalators, as well as an elevator. The UI rail here in Okinawa is very easy because there’s only one line. Starts from Naha airport all the way to Toako Uishi. And you can buy your Oka card here at this machine. From the Shiri station to Shiri Castle, it takes about 15 minutes on foot along the street. It’s a very nice atmosphere. Yeah. A lot of galleries, cafes, restaurants, stores, cobblestone sidewalk, traditional Okinan roof tiles. It’s a really nice stroll to the palace grounds. So, we arrived at the Shirou Park. Yes, we have. You can see a gate. That’s a iconic or symbolic gate of Shiri Castle that is called Shir. It was the palace of the Ryuku Kingdom between 1429 and 1879. So unfortunately there was a fire a few years back. Yeah. 2019. 2019. So they had to rebuild it. But it’s almost finished. Yes. Almost finished. So we’re here to see what it looks like right now. So the Shini Castle Park is quite large. This is like a map. And we are here right now. That’s the rest center with restrooms. And then it’s this whole area here. The the palace is over there. And this is the gate. The Shir moon gate. Very iconic. Must take photo in front of here. Gate was thought to have been built around 1527. It’s beautiful. This is the stone gate of the Sono Yan Shrine. It was built in 1519 and it is a world heritage site. The shrine is made mainly of Yuk limestone. Really, really beautiful. I love all the details here as well. And this is the entrance to the shitty park itself. And uh still under construction, of course, but going to be opening up next year. Uh you can see the top of the rebuilt uh castle. Oh, wow. Road to Rebirth now open to the public. You see they’re hard at work rebuilding. And look, there is the main palace building. Wow. Amazing. Yeah. So workers have been hard at rebuilding like this for the last 6 years. And the view from here is beautiful. Look at this. You can see the whole town of Shiri. You can also see the ocean in the background. So we came to restaurant Sui inside of the Shu Castle Park. My dish is Okinawa soba. Regularly the Okinaoba is using bonito flakes and pork but this one is using kamaha miso kingdom royal family used to enjoy this miso noodles bean sprouts lettuce pork berry and pickled red ginger italakimas. Oh the ginger matches with this miso so nicely. I think they use bonito flakes for dashi. The miso flavor is really really good noodles. It’s a flat the yellow type noodles. Maybe this yellow color is from miso. M. That’s a nice chewiness. M. So tender and soaked dasha so nicely. And so I got the Goya chuli which is another iconic Okinawan dish. And Goya Champulu is basically a stir fry made with Goya or bitter melon, the shima which is the island tofu, and some kind of meat like usually pork. In this case, it’s a lunch and meat and scrambled eggs. And this comes with rice, soup, uh kubuichi, which is stir-fried seaweed and pickles. Oh, so good. The flavor is amazing. It’s simple but so comforting flavored with a bonito flakes. You can really taste the umami in here. And the the Okinawan Island tofu is a lot firmer than the one you get on the mainland. But I like it and I think that’s why it’s perfect for these stir fried dishes because it holds its shape much easier and it’s mixed with the scrambled egg. So it makes it mild and a little bit creamy. And the way they prepare the goya or the bitter melon, it’s not bitter at all. You just have like this slight bitter flavor, but it’s only slight. It’s only slight. You can find the smoked island tofu inside Kokoro Care’s tropical taste from Okinawa, which is really delicious. By the way, guys, did you notice that the dishes that they use to serve the food today as well as last night is uh yachimun? You remember the pottery at we we were looking at in Yachimun doi. Yeah. Many restaurants here use that and I love it. I just love Yachimun. Let’s go to the next place by Moner. We are going to go to shopping mall. Shopping mall and uh beach views. Beach views. Yes. For today’s destination, we get off Moner at Akamin Station and transport to a bus. The bus stop is located the south exit of Akam station. Once you get out the station and go to the left side, the south exit. Go down the stairs and turn left. You will find TK01 TK02 bus stop. The bus goes to Ubias ES and Ashina outlet. Same as Mon. This bus accept credit card. It’s super easy. So, we’ve arrived in one of my favorite shopping malls near Naha. It’s called YAS, and it’s located right next to the beach, and you can get here by bus like we did today. So, as soon as you enter the mall, you will find A&W uh restaurant here, which you can find only in Okinawa. And yes, they do have root beer. And they have a pretty good uh doughnut shop here, Kjack in the Donuts. And then they have Daiso if you want to buy something there. So this is a threestory mall full of shopping and eeries. So if you need to do any shopping, like if you need to go to Uniqlo for example, this is the place to come. And if you go out here, there’s a really nice view of the beach. It’s kind of a rainy day today. Like a cloudy day, so the view is not that great. Uh there’s the beach. Yeah. Let’s go over there. Let’s check out the beach. There’s a bridge. Yeah, there’s a bridge over there. Yeah, let’s let’s do that. Yep. So, this is where we can cross over to the beach. So, is that some there? And the beach is right over there. Right across this bridge here. Uh there’s really no one else around except for us because it’s such a windy and kind of cold day. You know what I think? You know there is Namino U beach in Naha where you can actually walk from Kokai, right? It’s about 20 minute walk and that’s nice too. But I think beachwise this is a nicer beach and you can easily get here just by hopping onto the u and then changing to a bus and it’s really not that far. Not that far, right? Maybe like 30 minutes total, I think. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it’s connected right to a mall. So you can have um food there. You can do some shopping there. And then you just hop right back onto a bus. There’s a bus actually that takes you directly to Kokai do, right? So, you don’t even have to take uh the train if you don’t want the Montreal. Sorry, the Montreal. Okay, we were actually going to take a walk down there to the end of the beach cuz it looked kind of nice, but it’s super windy and it’s starting to rain pretty hard. So, we’re we’re going to just head into the mall. I think that’s a better idea. Oh my god. So, we’re on the second floor of the mall and this is Kahiko. It’s a Hawaiian themed shop. You can buy Lion Coffee here. And that’s a pretty large Uniqlo store if you need something from here. Here’s H&M. And inside the mall, there’s a pretty nice aquarium here called the DMM Karushi Aquarium. And if you’re looking for an arcade or crane games, things like that, you can check out this Namco Arcade on the third floor. And it’s never really that crowded, so it’s really easy to shop and walk around. So, that’s what I like about this mall. There’s also a pretty big GU shop here. Now, GU is doing a collab with Undercover Japanese designer. Yeah, the jackets are pretty cool and super super cheap. I believe this is 69 6,990 yen. That’s a pretty cool jacket. That’s a cool t-shirt. How to use chopsticks. How to use chopsticks. Chopsticks. And it says, “Mumami is a sensation of good flavor in Japanese.” That’s a word Satoshi loves. Umami. Yes. Please remember this word. Please remember this word. This is called Oniiri. Oh, I didn’t even know. But right next to Ju there is a loft. There’s a loft store. Oh, big shout out to our friend Caroline in Sydney, there’s a whole area of gachapon. The whole area for Okinawan souvenirs. We’re actually looking for something to take back to our friend. What did you find? Oh, this is actually very delicious. It’s like a shiro koito but pineapple Okinawa version. Yeah, I like pineapple. You like pineapple? Yeah. This is the Okinawan purple sweet potatoes. Mango bound kuhen. Yes. Okinawa is famous for mango. Look at all the different beer they have. Here’s Okinawa seaweed. This highai sauce is really good, too. So this is really nice packaging. But this is all different uh local brown sugar from different regions in Okinawa. We have like four or five more brown sugar here. Sugar covered peanuts. I’m very curious with this. Okinawan Island Blue. It’s rice. Made with rice. It’s a whiskey made with rice. Satoshi. Look at this selection of Okinawan craft beer. Wow. Kers beer. Kers beer. Tang beer. We’re going to take you guys to Chhatan tomorrow. And then there’s a nice supermarket in the mall. Things that I find really interesting at an Okinawan supermarket. Let me show you real quick. Instead of sobba, you find Okinawa soba. Lots of variety of Okinawa soba. Let me show you. This is what it means when you see soba in Okinawa. It’s not bakwi. It’s this type. Here we have Okinawan kamabokco. They’re a lot bigger than the one on the mainland. This is jimami dfu, which is a tofu made with peanuts. And then you have shima dfu, which is island tofu. Blue seal ice cream, pig’s feet, and for my friends in Hawaii, they actually have Portuguese sausage here. It’s actually called Portuguese in Okinawan dialect, and it’s a little bit different, but tastes very similar. Oh my god, you found the aamorei we had last night. So, this is the kari harusame we had with the sashimi. And then this is the zampa triple eight made with banana yeast. Here in Okinawa you will find this uh pork oni tamago like this. A variety of them at all the supermarkets even the convenience stores. What should we eat? Here’s a dessert shop for Okinawa Zenzai. You got sushi. This is a yaki toi shop from Tokyo. So maybe not. You have a pizza place. Gelato shop. Lots of nice seating here. Skeman shop. There’s a tempura and soba shop. Crazy spice is a local curry shop. This one has like seafood bows. Okay, we’re running out of the food court because there’s a sunset and Satoshi is running. He’s running. Wow. It’s a miracle. We got the sunset. Oh, you’re so happy. Oh my gosh. That is beautiful. We kind of gave up on the the the sunset because it was raining all day today. But wow, look at that. It’s the third floor. We ran because Sasha says, “Okay, I think the view is better from here.” Ah. So beautiful. Ah. Oh, look at that. We had planned to film like dinner watching the sunset today, but we sort of gave up. But so glad that we can show you the sunset. It’s still raining. But at least we can see the sunset. Are you super happy? I’m very happy. I think this is the happiest I’ve seen you today. Oh wow. Yeah. Rain makes me depressed. It does. It does. Oh wow. This is good. This is a good sign. Tomorrow we’re going to have a beautiful sunny day. Our last day in Okinawa. A miracle did happen. Where’s the sunset? Oh, it’s already Oh, it’s already finished. It the sunset while I was talking. But it was really, really beautiful. Please watch on my Instagram. Yes. Yes. Yes. compared to my hair. My hair is so terrible today cuz it was so windy and so rainy. Oh well. For a beautiful sunset view near uh Kokai, short train or bus ride, come to Shopping Mall. I got a steak from Ok steak. One of the Okinawa’s famous dish is steak. Mine is a cut steak. It’s a H pot, so it’s reasonable price. I got also got salad and rice. And if you want to cook more, put on this stove like this. Oh, juju. Nice sound. Nice sound. Put into this steak sauce. Delicy. M. The beefy flavor really nice. Looks juicy. Sada is a cabbage and corn reta with the sesame seed dressing. I really satisfied this meal. It’s a very good value. I went for something called chon and this is different from the nadasaki chon which are noodles. Chon no okinawa means this mixed stir fry over rice and it’s one of my favorite Okinawan dishes. It’s a very homey dish but I love it so much. I don’t know why. It’s really really comforting. And I got it with some uh fried chicken uh karag on the side. It’s a stir-fried vegetables. You see some uh lunchy meat in there, carrots, onions, cabbage, and it’s all scrambled with egg in this beautiful sauce. And there should be rice below that. Also got a little bit of uh uh benny shoga, which is a pickled ginger. And of course, two huge pieces of karaga chicken. M. It’s so crispy. M. It’s so crispy. And the chicken is so tender and juicy. I love it. Seasoned perfectly. Let’s try this. This is the chong. You will see in a minute that there is rice underneath. It’s not the best chompon I’ve had to be honest with you. egg, uh, spam right there, and maybe a little bit of the red ginger. I love how the red ginger gives a nice sourness. Kind of balances out the other flavors. The best cho I’ve had are from Shoko, traditional Okinawan diners that’s usually run by like a like a nice old couple. Um, but it’s not bad. Um, I think it’s a more modern version because it’s less salty and less use of maybe dashy powder, but overall it’s still delicious and and I really really had a good day today and I’m so happy that Satoshik got to see the sunset. He’s so happy. All right, it’s time to head back to the hotel. How are we getting back from here? There is a direct bus to cook. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. It’s very easy to access. I see. That’s right. And they accept the credit card. Oh, okay. That’s good. That’s good. So, we came back to Kaii. Going to our hotel now. Yes. So, we have one more day to spend in Okinawa. Tomorrow is all about using the bus system. We’re not going to go like super super far because we’re kind of exhausted, but we are going to take you guys to one of our favorite spots using the bus. Good morning everybody. So this is day three, our final day here in Okinawa. And guess what? It is a beautiful day. Blue skies today. Yeah, people are starting their day. My breakfast I’m eating ramen. This is called kinchan noodle. This ramen instant noodle is very popular in Okinawa. Okay. It’s interesting how they have a cover here. Yeah. Not like other instant ramen. Okay, looks good. I see shrimp. There’s egg and maybe meat. You forgot to say it. Similar to the cup noodles. Really? Yeah. Nishin cup noodles. Nishin cup noodles. Oh, I see. It smelled like uh noodles, but uh I guess it’s not interesting. Soy sauce flavor and the noodles. Um it’s also similar to Nishinkap noodles. So we’re standing outside of the Dubu department store which is at the start of Kokai. So we’re going to be boarding the bus today to Chhatang. It’s about 45 minutes. 45 minutes. About 45 minutes. So not too bad. Mhm. And this bus accept cash or zika card. Okay, that’s super easy. We have arrived. Arrived. It only took 45 minutes. It was very comfortable. Mhm. And we arrived just next of Supermarket. Since we’re going to have dinner at American Village, uh let’s have uh let’s look for something outside of American Village. Yes. Maybe near the beach. Okay. Okay. Yeah. So, first we’re going to go to the beach. Aha Beach. Alaha Beach. As you can see, it’s a very popular tourist destination, but it never gets too crowded, so that’s good. And and here is the entrance to Eon. It’s like a little shopping mall. There’s also Daiso in here. There’s Ntori. And there’s a electronic store and of course grocery store and Mr. Donuts. This is the place we stayed on our very first visit to Okidawa. This hotel right here. Hey, we’re almost at the bridge. Just crossed this bridge called Hurbashi. And Ara beach is uh over there. I wonder if we’re going to find anything to eat here. We’re walking along this uh path next to the ocean. On this side, there are apartments and like little hotels, but so far I don’t see any places to eat. There’s a cafe here, Yan Cafe. Here’s Happy Bose Okinawa. And then what else is here? Really nice shops here. Oh, and this is uh from Hawaii. The Sunrise Shack Hawaii. I think I’ve seen this before in Wiki Ki selling asai bowls. also have moiko chicken plate, special plate, French fries, and we found the perfect seat. We’re going to sit right here overlooking the ocean. Yay! Our food has arrived. Oh, looks good. It’s much bigger than I imagined. So, we bought our lunch at Sunlight Shak from Hawaii. They started their business in North Shore of Oahu. I bought Moiko chicken plate. That’s interesting. Mo chicken in Okinawa. Three piece of mocho chicken, rice, and macalon salad. Moiko chicken looks very crispy outside. M. Oh, crispy outside and it’s seasoned with salt and ginger and lightly soy sauce taste. Macaroni sala. It comes with red pepper comb. Pepper comb works so nice. It has a kick. It’s comfortable and nice texture of macaroni. So this is my green bowl. So look at all the ingredients here. You got bananas, you got uh chia seeds, got goji berries, coconut, granola, blueberry, and inside here I think there’s some kind of vegetables. Um I’m not I don’t remember if it was kale. Could be kale. Okay, let’s try. So, I didn’t get the asai bowl because I already had that the first day. Cold. M. It tastes like banana, a little bit like coconut milk. And I also do taste um some kind of green vegetable. I just remember is actually katsuna greens in here. Yes. So, it’s also very very nutritious. M I’m just so happy right now because as we’re sitting here, the sun is coming up. The sky is becoming brighter and brighter and brighter. Maybe we’ll also see a sunset tonight. FYI, sunset never comes at night. So, we came to American Village area. There’s a north side. It’s a marina area. And there are a couple of nice restaurants along the waterfront like a a brewery restaurant with craft beer. There’s a seafood restaurant. It’s really, really nice. Yeah. Yeah. And this breeze today is perfect. It’s perfect. I like taking photos in the American villages. Yes, you do. Lots of places to take photos. So many nice shops here. I feel like there are more shops than the last time we came here. Really good mix of shops. So, I’m thinking, what should we have for our last meal in Okinawa? You know, they do have Okinawan food. What should we have? But before dinner, I want to have coffee. Coffee? That’s right. That’s right. Okay. So, let’s go get some coffee. So, I said coffee, but I really wanted to eat ice cream. Here in Urus is the most popular ice cream brand. You definitely have to try it. And mine is a combination of ice cream and salt sab. This is called sand. And the salt sab, but mine is papo yams. And the yellow part, it’s a local pineapple and coconuts combination. So milky and rich to tell the truth. This is my first time to eat the sus in Burio ice cream and maybe one of the richest sto in my whole life. Really got rich. Really kind of pineapple and coconut. Yep. Pineapple and coconut combination. M coconuty. Coconut pineapple. Pineapple. I just had to get the double scoop regular size. purple sweet potato, the Okino beninimo as well as the wanabi mochi with okino and tea. That sounded really interesting to me. All right, so we’ll try the benimo first. I love the flavor of einawan purple sweet potatoes. It tastes like potato and a little bit caramelly to me. Really good. And this one is the Okinawan tea with wavi. Wow, that is really interesting but in a delicious way. The flavor of this tea is fantastic. How do I explain? It’s refreshing, a little bit jasmine like, really aromatic, delicious orange. Okay, so we came to Pizza for dinner. We want to eat pizza this time. But before pizza, I need beer. Cheers everybody. Right. And you got the local beer. Local beer. Orion beer. Of course. Here is Okinawa. So refreshing. This is a fried pickles. And it comes with a ranch dressing on the side. Ranch dressing. Yeah, that looks good. Okay. It’s Oh, it’s it’s recipe fried. Oo, looks nice. Juicy pickles and nicely salted and the sourness of vinegar is so good. And it’s combined with ranch dressing. I love this ranch dressing. Oh. Oh, that is amazing. This is actually amazing. It is sour because it is a sour pickle, but the outside is like a fritter. It’s deep fried. It’s fluffy, light. Oh my god. M. Very sakuto. Really crispy. Love this. Okay, so we ordered the medium pizza. Half and half of pepperoni and something that’s uh uniquely Okinawan. Okinawan agu pork and goya, which is bitter melon. So, we got half and half. Anyway, I want to try the pepperoni pizza first. That’s how I always judge my pizza. It’s a pretty big pizza for a medium here in Japan. Oh, it’s piping hot. Look at that. And lots of pepperoni, too. That is good. That is really good. That crust is like the perfect thickness. It’s not too thick. It’s not too thin. Just the way I like it. Really nice uh crusty crust on the bottom. Good enough amount of pepperoni as well. Just enough cheese. Good pizza sauce as well. That’s a really good pizza. I’m happy with this. So, this one is aguba sausage and goya pizza, right? The local au pork sausage. Yep. You can see a goya on top. This pizza crust is really good. The sakuto crusty thickness is perfect. Not too thick, not too thin for me. The bitterness of the koa. That’s wild for me. But it’s in good way. This au pork sausage sweetness. Nice umami of pork. Overall, it’s really good pizza. I’m going to try the Okinawan pizza and eat the pepperoni. Oh my god. Immediately I get the aroma and the slight bitterness of the goya, the bitter melon, which is lovely. Pepperoni has a lot of umami. Good. It’s good, right? Like a perfect pepperoni pizza. They had like a taco rice pizza or something like that. You know, the Okinawan taco rice. Oh, taco rice pizza. Yeah, taco rice pizza. That That was kind of interesting. But we didn’t get that because that one you had to buy a whole. You couldn’t do half and half with that. But maybe next time. But now we know this pizza is amazing. I’m so glad we came here. That was amazing pizza. It’s really, really nice pizza. We are waiting for sunset now. Yes. Today we ate the dinner, our dinner very early because I want to watch sunset. Look at this. Still early, but it’s become beautiful. Today it was a little bit rainy sometimes, but now it’s become clear this I am happy. This time we could see sunset twice in three days. Yesterday was miracle and today it’s so beautiful. I’m happy too. So, we are back in Naha, which means it’s the end of our Okinawan adventure. 1. Wow that first meal looks so good. You hardly see salads in Japan, the food choices totally made me forget that you’re still in Japan.

  2. Great video we walked passed you in Asakusa and didn't want to bother you to say hi 😅

We loved our trip in Okinawa we took the bus everywhere but found it was usually late 😅
