Discover a luxe way to experience one of Adelaide’s most beloved restaurants.

For the past year, Simon Kardachi’s popular Leigh Street izakaya, Shobosho, has been home to a special new space. The Sapporo Room is a moody, six-seat private dining room designed for those who like their banquets exclusive and their beers ice-cold. The restaurant’s chefs are serving up a feast that brings together the best of its yakitori grill and main dining menu – all paired with unlimited Sapporo on tap for the duration of your sitting.

Expect a progression of smoky, umami-rich dishes like prawn and nori tacos with yuzu cream, spiced pork and cabbage potstickers, and duck tsukune (meatball) skewers slicked with tare and egg yolk. The wood grill shines in the katsu pork meatball sando and BBQ Wagyu with miso creamed corn, while a wood-baked whipped cheesecake rounds things off on a bright, citrusy note. (The menu may shift with the seasons, but you can expect the flavour and fire to remain consistent.)

This intimate dining experience is designed for groups of up to six, offering total privacy without sacrificing the buzz and precision that make Shobosho a Leigh Street institution. Great for special occasions, business dinners or just an excuse to linger with good company, The Sapporo Room brings together the best parts of Adelaide’s Japanese dining scene: craftsmanship, comfort and just the right amount of indulgence.

Bookings are essential.
