Lake Garda, Italy: Top 10 Places | Lago di Garda Travel Guide 2025 (Gardasee )
[Music] Lake Garda has always been one of my favorite places in Italy. As an Italian born just an hour away, I’ve been incredibly lucky to visit it countless times and really get to know its unique charm. In this video, I’m excited to share with you my favorite spots in the northern part of the lake. What I believe is the most breathtaking area thanks to its stunning location surrounded by dramatic mountains. Get ready for an unforgettable journey as I take you through the most scenic viewpoints, the best hiking trails, must visit restaurants, charming towns, and my personal tips on where to stay and how to get around. Before we dive in, don’t forget to hit that like button and subscribe to the channel for more travel adventures. [Music] Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy, stretching 52 km in length with a wide of about 4 km in the north and up to 17 km in the south. In my opinion, the best place to stay to explore the area is Riva Delgarda. Not only is it one of the most charming towns along the lake, but it’s also one of the largest, offering a great variety of hotels, bars, and restaurants. Its strategic location make it a perfect base for visiting some of Lake Garda’s top attractions including Lemon Sulgarda, Treosine, Bales and Canalo as well as the beautiful Lake Teno. Parking around Lake Garda can be tricky. Spaces are limited and prices often range from 2 to€3 per hour. That’s why it’s a good idea to book a hotel with parking included. If you are staying in Riad Garda, consider visiting Lemon Sugarard and Malches by ferry. It saves you parking hustle and offer stunning lake views. Fairies run every 90 minutes from Riva to Lemon, then continue to Malchzin. Tickets are available at the port. For schedules and info, visit the website www.nagatelagi.it. Rivera Delgarda with its charming historic center, lively prominade and stunning montine backdrop is the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. The town is ideal for strolling with colorful buildings, cozy cafes and lakeside gelato spots awaiting around every corner. Be sure to check out Patza 3rd of November, the heart of the old town surrounded by elegant buildings and the iconic Toria ponale. For just €2, you can climb the 34 m high tower for breathtaking panoramic views over the town and the lake. Just a few steps away, take the panoramic glass elevator up to the basa for just €5. Once at the top, enjoy even sunnier views of the city or treat yourself to a delicious lunch with a view at the restaurant. Don’t miss the mag alto where you’ll find exhibition on local history, art and the natural environment of the region. Another hidden gem worth a visit is Santa Marian Vulata, one of the most important barack churches in TanTino. Its peaceful atmosphere and intricate interior make it a lovely cultural stop during your visit. For outdoor lovers, Riva is a true paradise. There are countless hiking and biking trails that start right from the town. One of the most popular is the Santiier de Ponal, a scenic path carved into the cliffs above the lake, offering spectacular views every step of the way. Another amazing trail is Venti Busat Tempesta, famous for its meta star cases cleaning to the cliff side. However, as of May 2025, at the time of this recording, this trail is currently closed for maintenance. So, make sure to check for updates before planning your hike. Finally, don’t forget to relax at the River Dearda Beach. Almost 2 kilometers of well-maintained grassy shoreline, perfect for some buffing, swimming, or just unwinding with the mountains as your backdrop. Lemon Sulgarda is in my opinion the most enchanting town on the entire lake. Nestled between towering cliffs and the shimmering waters of Lake Garda, this pictures town feels like it’s been lifted straight from a postcard. The name Lemon means lemon in Italian and citrus fruits have long played a pivotal role in the town’s history. Thanks to its unique microclimate, Lemore became one of the northernmost places in Europe to successfully cultivate lemons. In the 18th and 19th century, sprawling lemon groves and lemonaya lemon houses were carefully constructed along the mountain sides. Although lemon farming is no longer as prevalent today, the town’s citrate heritage still lingers. For just €2, you can visit the beautifully preserved Lemonia del Castell to explore this fascinating chapter of the town’s past. You will also find the lemon team souvenirs, local and citrus infused dishes throughout Lemon. Be sure not to miss the lemon ice cream, which is arguably the best I ever had. Take some time to wander the narrow cobblestone streets of the old town. The vibrant buildings, flower filled balconies, and laid-back atmosphere creates the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll. For history lovers, a visit to the church of San Benedto, a serene 17th century church with stunning frescos and a picturesque lake view is a must. You can explore also the quaint church of San Roco nearby. And of course, no trip to Lemon would be complete without a visit to its beautiful beach where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. One of the best viewpoints can be found just outside the town center, the Chicropista Delgard. A breathtaking suspended cycling and walking path that winds along the cliffs above the lake, offering panoramic views you won’t forget. [Music] Trimosine, just a 20inut drive from Lemon, is a charming village perch high in the mountains, offering some of the best views of Lake Garda. Known for its scenic beauty, it’s home to the Terrarata del Brio, a terrace that extends out over the cliffs, providing breathtaking panoramic views of the lake below. Stop here for a spritz and enjoy this incredible scenery. Also, be sure to visit the old town of Premosine where you can explore narrow streets, historic buildings, and stunning [Music] viewpoints. To return to Lemonet takes the scenic strata de laora, often hailed as one of the most beautiful roads in the world. Carved through dramatic gorge, it’s been featured in movies like James Bond, making the drive just as memorable as the destination. Canal deto is a picturesque medieval village often considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. Built in the 12th century, it has retained its old warm charm over the centuries. Located just a short drive from River Garda, this charming hamlet is a maze of cobblestone streets, ancient stone houses, and flower field balconies. [Music] Be sure to visit Pata Central, the heart of the village, and take in the incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Just a 10 minutes walk from Canal, you’ll find Lake Teno, a small stunning emerald green lake surrounded by lush forest and dramatic mountain landscape. The lake is perfect for a peaceful escape. Whether you want to take a refreshing swim or enjoy a relaxing picnic by the shore, on your way back to Rivia Delgard, don’t miss the Von waterfalls, which cascade dramatically into a deep gorge offering a stunning sight and a refreshing stop on your journey. Malches is one of the most enchanting towns on Lake Garda, renowned for its stunning blend of history, charming streets, and breathtaking views. At the heart of the town lies the Castello Caliguro, a medieval fortress that dates back to the 13th century. Perched on a promonter overlooking the lake, the castle offer panoramic views of Malchzin and the surrounding area. Wandering through Maltz Cabo streets is like stepping back in time. The narrow alleys are lined with quaint shops, local boutiques, and cafes. Each one offering a taste of the town’s vibrant atmosphere. Don’t miss a visit to the Parath de Capitani, an elegant Renaissance building which offers a glimpse into the town’s past as an important Venetian administrative center. Just below the town, you’ll find the charming little harbor where colorful boats are docked against the backdrop of crystal clear waters and scenic mountains. Is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a gelato, or watch the boats sail by. For those seeking adventure, the cab to Monte Valdo is a must. The journey offers stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. And once you reach the top, you are rewarded with incredible hiking trails, panoramic vistas, and even the opportunity to try paragliding. Last but not least, Toridel Banako is another charming lakeside town known for its peaceful atmosphere and stunning sunset views. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring, especially as the sun sets behind the mountains, casting vibrant colors over the lake. For the best experience, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the many lakeside restaurants where you can savor fresh local dishes while taking in breathtaking [Music] views. Just like Malchzin, Tori del Bakaco offers a beautiful mix of history and nature with the Castello Caligro adding a touch of medieval charm to the town’s senic beauty.
