2 DAYS in TOKYO π―π΅ Matcha, Street Food & Late-Night Eats | Full Foodie Vlog
Spending a few days in Tokyo to eat everything inside. A foodie itinerary you’ll want to see. Hi, I’m Mish, a New York-based corporate girly turned entrepreneur and now wifey who manifested my dream life. So, I’m here to help you live yours, too. Hi guys, I’m in Tokyo for the next few days. We’re doing lots of shopping, eating, exploring the city, and we are in Ginsa and we’re starting off with a standing sushi bar. So, let’s get our adventure started. [Music] standing and not fitting. Wow. This might be the best that we’ve had so far. [Music] I think we got here at 11:00 because the line is actually building up right now. So, pro tip, come early. [Music] That omocas exceeded expectations. I give it a 10 out of 10. The only sad thing was that they were out of oonie. But we’re going to walk it off, try to find a matcha. And it’s raining today, unfortunately. But we’re still going to have a good day in Tokyo. Never in my life would I have thought that I would wait in the rain for matcha and on a long line, but here we are waiting for matcha. Apparently, it’s a very strong six g matcha. Was on Tik Tok, so let’s see if it’s good. Wow, look at how long this line has gotten. And the store is right there. It’s finally our turn. Okay, sounds good. waited 20 minutes for this matcha. I was wrong. They used seven grams, not six. I would say it’s really good. It could be a little bit less sweet. That could be the oatmeal. But overall, it’s really good. Yum. Actually, the more I mix it, the better it gets. And it’s a little bit less sweet. So, this is probably my favorite matcha so far in Tokyo. Rain, rain, go away. We’ve just been taking cars everywhere since it’s raining. Maybe we’ll go back to the hotel if we get bored. Trying to find a mall to walk around and shop since we don’t really want to be outside in the rain. We are actually loving our hotel. I did a whole video about where we’re staying and our first 3 days. You can check that out if you’re visiting Tokyo for like 3 days. But hopefully this mall is a lot of fun and I get some shopping done. Visiting Ginsa 6. [Music] Wow. [Music] Our first meal in Osaka was this beef cutlet and we’ve been craving it for the last like 5 days. So, we’re at this other beef cutlet spot called you costume tomorrow. It might be a chain. Not sure. They kind of all look the same, but excited to have it. These are the grills so that you can grill your meat if it’s too raw. [Music] M. So good. [Music] The guatsu wasn’t as good as the one we had in Osaka, but overall a decent meal. You have to get guatsu when you come though. The one in Osaka, check that one out in my previous vlog. We actually might go there again because we loved it so much. They have another location in Tokyo. Cute little market outside. Rain, rain, go away. Since it’s still raining, we are off to another indoor shopping center around Tokyo Stationer. It’s time for dinner. It’s time for dinner and we decided on Japanese pasta, which is a little bit different than Italian pasta with some Japanese twists. Teeny tiny garlic bread. Wow. Wow, that looks so good. It’s different. Tastes like Japanese. Wow. Yeah, it doesn’t taste like Italian. It’s a really heavy dinner. Just got back to the hotel and look how cute. They left us a little treat. These little matcha pastries. So adorable. We’re staying at the edition in Tokyo and so far our stay has been really good. The service has been excellent. We actually just did our laundry. We ordered our laundry to be delivered out. It was like $40 for an entire bag. So, pretty good. Clean underwear. We’re on our honeymoon. So, we’ve been away for a month. And this is like the last leg of our honeymoon. I did a full review on this hotel. So, you can check out the hotel. Do you want to see the view? The view is also pretty nice from this one. Yeah. Let’s try Let’s try the treats. M. It’s pretty good. It’s like a matcha. A matcha chocolatey thing. Oh, matcha ganache. Anyway, we’re probably going to get some drinks later and I’m going to rest up a little bit. Just got ready to go out for the night. I’m wearing this dark brown Skiims dress. I have this black leather jacket and weirdly enough, I’m going to wear sneakers with this because I don’t know where the night is going to take us and heels might be uncomfortable. But we’re going to go downstairs first to take some photos at the lobby because the lobby is super pretty. So, let’s get this night going. [Music] The view and the vibes here. So nice. Definitely a spot to put on your list when you visit Tokyo. [Music] On to the next place. [Music] Cheers. [Music] In Japan eating jerk chicken. So funny. Good morning. Another full day in Tokyo. Last night we went out and it was pretty fun. My husband has a friend who lives here, so he showed us a pretty local experience. And eating jerk chicken at like 2:00 a.m. was so interesting. Any food that you get in Japan, I feel like is good because the Japanese people just make every cuisine really good. But on the menu for today, we have lots of Eids, shopping, and yeah, matcha. We’re going to get our day started now. Lines in Japan are actually crazy. We finally found a spot that didn’t have a line cuz I was not waiting an hour to eat lunch. Ordered a chicken ramen. My husband got the dipping ramen. You need chicken soup. [Applause] I was worried this was raw meat, but it’s actually really good. That was a pretty heavy lunch eating a full bowl of ramen. And now we’re off to Asakusa. We haven’t been in that area yet. So going to explore the area. Hopefully we get some matcha cuz I need a little bit of caffeine. We’re leaving Ginsza. Oh my god. That was the line to get matcha. Isn’t that insane? Just the lines in Tokyo are crazy. If you are not a fan of lines, you might not like Tokyo. I do love the food here, but the lines are kind of hard for me. It’s just like the waiting, the opportunity cost of possibly leaving the line to wait on another line. It’s crazy, but I think we might be committed and are waiting. Okay, it’s been 10 minutes and we are definitely committed. It will probably be another 10 to 15, I would say. [Music] The moment of truth. If this matcha is good, I got the premium one with oat milk. Looks pretty green. Actually, very good. I actually do really like it. Then I got the matcha ice cream on the side. I didn’t want it in the matcha. M yum. Okay. I don’t know if anything is worth waiting 30 minutes for, but since we’re in Japan, we decided to wait. This is with regular milk. Oh, interesting. It’s just not sweet, but it’s still good. H I taste the roastiness at the end. Yeah, I think yours is better. Needed to exchange more cash. [Music] Wow. If you’re into doing the incense, you can do that here. I’m not doing it. My husband’s doing it. And yeah, it’s a nice little cultural experience. [Music] outside of the temples to the left. It’s a little bit more peaceful and there’s a lot of people in kimonos taking photos if that is your thing. It’s not really my thing, but yeah, I mean a lot of people like to do it. [Music] Decent with red bean inside. Good for a mini snack, but not super impressive. [Music] The trick to finding good food is on the side streets. If you leave the temple area, there are streets like this with less people, less lines, and good food. So, we got some curry pond. Not bad. This is a pretty good snack. It’s different. This is what it looks like on the inside. I’ve already eaten so much of it, but it’s actually really good. This little alley is literally giving Kyoto vibes. If you remember, I said yesterday that there was a guatu that we had in Osaka that was really good called Guatsu Kyoto. And they have a location right over here. [Music] Somehow we’ve wandered to the spot in Asakusa that looks like Osaka and somehow it went from Kyoto vibes to Osaka vibes and then Tokyo. So, I feel like if you’re visiting Tokyo only, you can get all three major cities in this area, which is actually pretty cool. I was not expecting that. Another food item. Another line. But at least this one’s moving fast. Tastes like an ice cream sandwich. It’s really good. Another midday matcha. Three different types of levels for your matcha. At this point, I’m a professional line waiter. Second matcha of the day. Just for reference, matcha is not cheaper in Japan. This was a $10 matcha. This tastes like home. M. This one’s really good. It was their gold standard matcha. And we picked extra strong, so it’s 6 g. They do not do milk alternatives, which is kind of annoying for me, but it is pretty good. Hopefully my stomach doesn’t hurt later though. Stumbled across another food street in Asakusa. It’s so crazy. I feel like this street is very local. Everyone’s eating outside. There’s different sorts of food that doesn’t seem touristy. I actually feel like it’s giving like hawker center from Singapore. This is a cool experience if you want something a little bit more local. Off to the next location. highly recommend going to that area for a day and having plans to if you’re in Tokyo. I really liked it. I felt like it was like cultural with food. There’s lots of matcha, so if you’re into matcha, you can go around, buy matcha, go take photos. But now we’re off to our next destination to check out more places. New location unlocked. We’re in Akihabara and apparently it’s known for anime and electronics. [Music] Oh my god, it’s so scary. [Music] You know how we ate yukatsu beef cutlet yesterday? My husband wanted the one that’s good that we passed by. So, we’re literally here again at a food court. But yeah, this one’s way better. Hopefully, it’s good. The one to get is this one. This was so good. [Music] It’s just as good as I remember it from like a week ago. So good. Definitely have to come to this spot, not the other spot. Ending the night with going grocery shopping for snacks. We want to do a little snack haul and taste test them tonight. Sweet snacks in my video. I want something sweet and salty so we can see what we need to buy home. This is what we’re bringing home. A few more snacks at 7-Eleven, then we’re going back to the hotel. My camera died, so I started this snack haul a little bit before I tried this and this and I spit this one out because it was too sweet. This tastes like Coke candy. So, I don’t know if I like them. So, let’s get into the salty ones. Let’s try I don’t even know what any of these things are. This to me looks like cabbage popcorn. [Music] I do think it’s cabbage flavored popcorn. Cheddar cheese puffs. These look good. How do you like those? Oh, my husband’s on the floor. He’s filming them as well. This one is straightforward. Cheddar cheese puffs. M. I like this one. You like those? Okay. So, I like those. My husband does not like those. So, we did two stops. We went to like this local grocery store. And then these ones are from 7-Eleven. This is like Maybe I’ll save this one. This seems like a barbecue cracker. Not bad. I actually like the cheese one the most. I think that one’s really good. Okay, this one is black pepper chips. Did you pick these? Oh, this is so interesting. They’re pretty good. These are some like grapes with chocolate, but it comes in like individuals. I like that because I don’t know how I’m going to be closing up. It’s only like 8:00 p.m. and we had a really early dinner at like 5:30, so we’re thinking of going out to eat again. Ew. It tastes like medicine. Medicine inside. It’s called premium Ghana chocolate. I don’t like it. It’s like Okay. Oh, yeah. It’s like medicine. Tastes like diamond tap. Oh, that’s so bad. It’s so bad. Now we have sweet potato pretzel hockey, but they’re called preps. Those ones are going to be This is going to be good. M. Okay, try this one. I think that’s good. Okay, these are the plum sheets. Ooh, that’s strong and sour, but I do like these. Kind of reminds me of like a Chinese pickled plum sheets. And I think that’s it. That’s it for my snack haul. The cheese, the pepper, the plum sheets, the sweet potato, the popcorn’s just okay for me. I think we’re going to have to go to Donkeyote and do more snacks. H Oh, we also got this vitamin C drinks. I’m really grateful that our hotel room is really large in Tokyo because we have a lot of junk around the room. Oh, it’s really good. M thousand vitamin C. My husband’s got is the orange. I like mine. Yeah, I know. Yours is better. Mine tastes more lemony. But yeah, that’s the snack haul for the day. The night. Cheers. Good morning. Last night after the snacks, I literally passed out. It was like 10:30 p.m. But today, we’re starting our day off having breakfast at the hotel. They do a really good like breakfast buffet and you can order a mane. So, we’ve been having that almost every single morning, but for the next few days, I’m still in Tokyo. I wanted to end the vlog, though, because it would be way too long. So, make sure you subscribe and stay tuned for more Tokyo food, shopping, and everything. And I’ll see you guys in my next vlog. Bye. [Music] Wow. [Music]
