Heading to Namba It already feels so Christmassy Dropped my luggage at the hotel and headed out This kind of line? I can work with that Yeah nope, abort;;; How long are we supposed to wait… First meal, start You can tell from the pinky finger detail This place is definitely legit This is a spicy, addictive cucumber dish And it lives up to the name As soon as I took the camera out, people started murmuring So I was mentally preparing myself (They said filming was okay) Got asked nonstop about the differences between Korea and Japan… I used my brain, so I’m gonna eat now This was honestly insane I usually don’t like yakisoba But this was just clean, salty, and perfect I want it again so bad I could cry Guess I do like yakisoba (Awkward lol) Okonomiyaki with all the good stuff in it I was like, “How different can okonomiyaki be?” and then I ate it ! It’s seriously so good..! Crispy, perfectly sauced, just really delicious Get the one with pork in it The extra grilled chicken neck we ordered was great too Happiness is really just this… Since I’m in Osaka, had to see the Glico guy at least once Then just strolled around Dotonbori Can I join your crew? Ice cream after drinks just hits different “Ice no Mi” grape ice cream Perfect post-drink dessert Downing a Yunker for stamina issues Side effect(?) is your body’s tired but your brain’s wide awake Left my luggage at Higashi-Umeda Station and heading for brunch It suddenly starts pouring… Honestly, I kind of like rainy weather Feels like I’ve seen this in a horror game Please don’t walk, RUN …….. The line goes all the way to the next block This was the longest I’ve ever waited in line They weren’t even open yet omg Actually I don’t like rain There was nowhere else to go so I waited an hour and a half If this isn’t good, it’s you or me It’s raining, I’m starving… Hit the biggest, most expensive button Another few minutes and my calves would’ve been soaked too Oh, this place is… A famous spot for chicken-based shoyu ramen The broth is super rich and deep They have different kinds of chashu and they’re all tender and delicious It’s a taste I’ll randomly crave Watching this while editing I was so full I couldn’t even eat the egg, bruh Tried riding in the women-only car ? Came to Montbell to buy a light wallet They only had black and green Going with green I was going to head straight to Kyoto after ramen But there was so much to see I couldn’t stop looking around (Respect people’s tastes) Anyway, I’m going to Harbs before I leave I was planning to eat it in Kyoto but I just came here Takeout is instant, but there’s a wait for dining in But the line moves pretty fast here This Mont Blanc looks insane I’ve already eaten a whole slice in my head Hot Earl Grey tea And a mille crêpe One slice per person is the law But I could easily crush two The melon is insanely sweet Did they marinate it in sugar or what? The custard cream isn’t heavy at all It just blends with the fruit juice so well Someone please open a Harbs branch in Seoul Cleaned the plate Now heading to Kyoto Later than planned, but it was fun (Except the ramen wait) Arrived in Kyoto in 30 minutes Took the Special Rapid from Umeda Station Speed-running to the hotel Arrived It was clean, well-located, I liked it Let me try doing a room tour too The end The stuff I bought at Montbell earlier Going to organize my wallet before heading out It’s light and perfect On my way to the restaurant I booked in advance This place looks cute too, I’ll come next time Here for a seasonal kaiseki course I booked it two weeks ago It’s casually sophisticated With a unique vibe I really liked God-tier Right up my alley… This was the highlight of the trip Felt like being invited to the chef’s home I was so busy eating I missed filming the first dish – Maitake mushroom with tofu – And monkfish liver Yes… it’s delicious… A starter plate that screams autumn Rolled omelette with broccoli sauce Deep-flavored cumin pumpkin This one feels like I could maybe make it(?) Grilled salmon marinated in white miso So, so good Deep-fried daikon Good food calls for drinks Choosing a sake glass Just picked the one I made eye contact with The left one is “Zaku Miyabinotomo Nakadori Junmai Daiginjo” Yeah I’m not remembering that This one’s a Kyoto sake made with red rice called “Ine Mankai” What’s next, I’m dying to know Deep-fried cod roe In a soup with red turnip and yuzu This was seriously amazing I want to come back when the seasons change Let’s work hard and earn money so we can eat more like this Yellowtail, daikon radish, and miso A Japanese-style trio? The combination makes no sense but it works Fish wrapped in nori and fried With sake sansho sauce and pomegranate Savory, salty, just so tasty I’ll stop saying “it’s good” from now on, just assume default = delicious Sweet shrimp in vinegar The presentation is on another level Foie gras sushi… Topped with reduced daikon juice Rich, silky, absolutely crazy The fish they’d been carefully grilling goes in here I’m way too full… For dessert Fig rum monaka and pear The whole course was ¥8,800 Such a great experience for the price Thank you for the meal [Woke up at 7 a.m.] There’s a 7-Eleven right in front of the hotel Love that The morning air feels so fresh Breakfast is a quick egg sandwich Isn’t two per person the minimum? Why did we share just one Get it together… Egg flavor is strong, it’s good Heading to Fushimi Inari Station The weather’s great, perfect for walking We came early to avoid the crowds Arrived right on schedule at 8 a.m. Maybe I *am* a J-type planner? Thought it’d be peak fall foliage, but not quite yet Just moderately colorful It’s definitely calmer in the morning I was curious why everything’s red, so I looked it up Apparently it wards off evil spirits and bad luck I should start wearing red too Messengers of the Inari deity Looking properly foxy From here on, it’s infinite torii gates Feels like it’d be spooky at night This part is even more intense Anime-taught Japanese Everyone, actually I have a kanji certificate Level 8 lol Hung it right in the center Now heading to Kiyomizudera About a 20-minute walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station So cute, a shiba (the dog) The temptation of dango I gave in It’s a touristy spot so I was skeptical But my hand had already hit “Pay” Honestly, I had zero expectations But it tasted like freshly pounded rice cakes from a mill Not overly sweet, just really good Eating it while shaking like an overexcited auntie Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka Kuroo and Kenma? Looks like Kyoto is doing a Haikyuu collab Five years ago, I definitely would’ve bought something Omg it’s getting really crowded Everything here is red too It must be stunning when the leaves fully turn You can tell why it’s a famous fall foliage spot Should I make a wish Please let me eat lots of delicious food There’s construction in the back so it’s noisy The famous photo spot It is pretty Feels different from Korean temples All the statues have bibs on The legend here is kind of creepy After 10 a.m. it gets way too crowded So we rushed through and headed down The biggest dilemma of the day Sushi or yakiniku Decision made We went for yakiniku Hungry from all that “hiking” I’ve had sushi a lot in Japan But this is my first time having yakiniku here Came with the mindset of investing everything into food – It’s potato salad The yukhoe (beef tartare) was fresh and delicious Then something even fresher came out… Honestly I don’t usually eat raw meat But I tried everything out of curiosity The chef personally came to show the cuts Should I have censored this – Grill it quickly – You could even eat it raw Reaction king My friend was enjoying tongue sashimi so much I had to try one Chewy and kind of hugs your tongue(?) He explains each cut one by one It’s basically a private meat lesson Saliva glands: ON No matter the cut, it’s all just delicious The triangular cut was insanely good Is this the one? The amount of juice is unreal.. The owner suddenly brought us sake We were so focused on the meat we didn’t even think about drinks But of course it’s better together This is tenderloin but it was so big We asked for scissors and he said, “Just eat it like that” And that’s when I realized I was a meat amateur It was a full-on juice explosion in my mouth Thought it was over but dishes kept coming You have to pace yourself before you get too full (The will to never leave anything behind) Omg my mouth is watering again It’s an open kitchen, so watching is half the fun Knowing Japanese would make it even better If you make eye contact, they tell you how to eat it best As for me, I came equipped with reactions only… I was so full my vision went a bit blurry I might pass out The marinated cuts were great too The large intestine was delicious as well Finished with ochazuke Too cute…… I loved that it was simple and not over the top The pineapple juice was insanely good They even gifted us garlic flakes They really kept us happy till the very end Arigatou gozaimashita Reeked of grilled meat afterwards So I changed clothes and put on a hat Satoru? Came to look around Shinpukan Not really planning to buy anything More like market research(?) And maybe some motivation(?) ? Shinpukan was less interesting than expected Window-shopping at little shops was more fun If I let myself, I could blow my entire savings here Before that happens, I came for bread Isn’t dessert supposed to be liquid? It just melts in your mouth The black coffee itself wasn’t that great So I added cream Copied the grandpa sitting next to me The French toast had a strong egg flavor Which means it was good It was just a simple, no-frills toast But making something that basic taste this good is harder… Cleared it to the very last bite Walked 25,000 steps this day Ran into Kaldi Lots of advent calendars for Christmas season Pretty reasonable purchase, no? This one was my roommate’s pick Something something salmon mentaiko Stopped by Uniqlo too Ended up buying a Hello Kitty T-shirt The Madu shop was nice as well I was just going to walk past But ended up spending quite a while inside Everything is “so cute” Thought the charm was a skull for a second This one is actually really cute, right? And this And this too Okay, I’ll stop now Wait, that’s the mini cutting board I wanted My eyes were sparkling too much to even film I was going to go to an oden bar in the evening But I spent too long shopping So I bought fried chicken at FamilyMart Pretty spicy (Took the spicy one) Came to the oden bar The 7-Eleven oden bar – Many many soup? He’s such a fun guy – Okay? – One more? Going to make myself a smoothie too They were out of mango so I got strawberry-banana Might actually be better than mango Barely see Smoothie King in Seoul these days Convenience stores should start selling smoothies too… Maybe there’s no demand because of blood sugar lol ? Is it supposed to be this watery? Turns out strawberry-banana beats blueberry Approved Oden, open Picked all the famous items Broth Approved Daikon, approved Mochi kinchaku Super approved Beef tendon skewer Rejected Natto gimbap It’s basically seasoned rice with natto But the crispy seaweed makes it better Opening pudding for dessert Seems like anything you pick is good I just grabbed a random pudding from 7-Eleven It was rich and delicious The Jersey milk pudding was gone in 3 seconds (Already finished) Took a pudding spike and passed out.. Inside me There is Hello Kitty…… (Not even a Kitty fan) Crying on the inside because it’s the last day Comforting myself with bread first Maruki Bakery, which opens early A small neighborhood bakery, but I was so curious about their sandwiches Ordered a shrimp roll 300 yen each First bite is just good shrimp katsu and bread Then after a few more bites the tartar sauce and Lemon start to kick in, you know? Perfection… Heading to Kyoto Station to drop my luggage Omg this feels like rush hour PTSD I escaped Travel rule: the weather is always best on the last day Not that many people considering I survived hell-train It’s quiet and peaceful, yes this is it Next trip will be a small town [Entrance to the Chikurin bamboo grove] Apparently the bamboo was brought from China Can’t deny it looks majestic ! Is this the famous photo spot? Why is everyone holding up their cameras for this (Asking myself) Did a quick look and left I don’t think I’d come just for the bamboo grove But the neighborhood streets were so calm and lovely Lots of little shops tucked away everywhere This bowl was cute too but I didn’t buy it Tragic Found this place while walking by I was just going to get ice cream But I was curious about the tea too so I sat down Honestly, I just needed a place to sit Even before checking the menu, the answer was set Royal milk tea ice cream And two teas you can only drink here They converted a 100-year-old post office into this shop It was so quiet and perfect for a break Never seen ice cream like this before It’s so good… Creamy with strong tea flavor If you come, you have to try the milk tea ice cream But The Hello Kitty on my tummy is dangerously cute I’m going to get arrested for Kitty overuse soon The teas were both nice Both fruity, just different in intensity After a good rest, heading back to Kyoto Station Passed by this flower shop, it was so beautiful I never understood why my mom loved flowers I kind of do now That scared me The owner spoke perfect Korean And had amazing taste too, it seems Now I need to take the Haruka back to Kansai Airport Going to buy a bento for the train Going for the sushi I didn’t get to eat on this trip (Still not a Kitty fan) I don’t want to go to the airport.. Train’s shaking like crazy but Still easy It’s my first travel vlog so it’s a bit chaotic Thank you so much for watching till the end…! Have a delicious… I mean, a happy day (It’s delicious…)
