Built in 1888 in Tochigi, Japan, Aoki Villa was commissioned by Viscount Shūzō Aoki (青木周蔵; 1844–1914), one of Japan’s first overseas ambassadors. Now a designated historic landmark, the estate features beautifully landscaped gardens and a long cedar-lined allée accented with vivid scarlet sage, leading to the former Meiji-era aristocrat’s resort villa.
