Corporate Directions launches Strategic Capital Advisory practice

Japanese strategy consulting firm Corporate Directions has established a new division called Strategic Capital Advisory.

The new arm support companies with a range of capital markets advisory services and mergers & acquisitions across the full deal lifecycle – from deal strategy and due diligence to post-merger integration.

In a statement, Corporate Directions said the new offering reflects rising client demand for expert support in engaging with capital markets – whether relating to transactions, refinancings, acquisitions or even public offerings.

“Amidst ongoing challenges in financial markets, many companies are not adequately prepared to properly engage with capital markets, resulting in disharmony between companies and capital markets. This issue is particularly significant for mid-sized companies with limited capital,” stated the release.

Key offerings of the new practice include capital markets strategy, access to funding, valuation enhancement among investors, capital structuring (across debt, equity, cash reserves and other financing options), corporate governance, and dealing with activist shareholders.

The M&A service line meanwhile provides support with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and strategic partnerships from a shareholder-value perspective.

Founded in 1986 in Tokyo by former Boston Consulting Group consultants, Corporate Directions is one of Japan’s leading strategic consulting firms. The 70-person firm provides strategy and implementation consulting services across multiple sectors, delivering projects in Japan and several other Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, and Singapore.
