TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after the discovery of the bodies of four men and women inside a vehicle in Akiruno City on Sunday, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 30).
At just before 8:30 a.m., a man passing by a vacant lot on a forest road in Fukasawa called police to report the discovery of a “covered-up car.”
The bodies of three men in their 20s and one woman in her 30s were discovered inside the van.
The relationship between the four is unknown, police said.
Charcoal briquettes were found in the back of the vehicle. As well, the doors and other parts of the locked vehicle had been covered with adhesive tape.
Police are investigating the case as a group suicide or the result of foul play.
