With the offseason now in full swing, tennis players are making the most of their time away from competition, whether by celebrating with family or returning to the training courts to fine-tune their game.

Recently, prominent WTA stars like Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, and Amanda Anisimova resumed their on-court work, making their intent crystal clear ahead of the next season.

The 2025 season turned out to be a rollercoaster ride for Gauff. After lifting the Roland Garros trophy earlier in the year, she endured a prolonged wait for her second title of the season.

However, the American rediscovered her best form during the Asian swing, capturing the prestigious WTA 1000 crown in Wuhan. She went on to qualify for the WTA Finals in Riyadh but unfortunately exited in the group stage. She finished the season with a 48-16 win-loss record and as World No. 3.

Anisimova, meanwhile, also enjoyed a stellar season, highlighted by two WTA 1000 titles in Qatar and Beijing, along with two Grand Slam final appearances that underlined her dominance. The American wrapped up the year as World No. 4 with an impressive 47–18 win–loss record. She also featured at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, where she finished as the runner-up.

The 2025 season marked a strong resurgence for Osaka following a challenging phase after her return from maternity leave. The Japanese star captured her first title in four years at Saint-Malo and came agonizingly close to a WTA 1000 triumph at the Canadian Open, where she finished runner-up.

Osaka also powered her way into the semifinals of the US Open before her campaign was halted by Anisimova. She wrapped up the year as World No. 16 with a 35–15 win–loss record.

With the offseason now in full swing across the tennis world, players, including the trio mentioned above, have been afforded time to recharge ahead of the 2026 campaign. Osaka, Gauff, and Anisimova, however, are already putting the break to purposeful use.

Recently, World No. 3 Gauff shared a photo of her gripping a racket against the backdrop of a tennis court, an unmistakable signal of intent. Her caption, posted shortly after celebrating Thanksgiving with her family, left little doubt about her focus ahead of the new season.

“We back. Gotta work off those thanksgiving calories,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Osaka and Anisimova have also begun their preparations for the 2026 season, with their Instagram stories making their intentions unmistakably clear.

With all three carrying over strong momentum from the latter half of the 2025 season, how the 2026 campaign unfolds for Gauff, Osaka, and Anisimova will be closely watched.
