The “human washing machine,” which was unveiled at the Osaka Expo and received great attention, will soon be on the market. The estimated sales price is expected to be around 60 million yen (about 564 million won).
According to a report by Japan’s Jiji News Agency on the 26th, Yamada Holdings (HD) plans to sell the “Mirai Human Washing Machine” at the LABI Ikebukuro Main Store, a large home appliance store located in Toshima-gu, Tokyo.
The product was developed by Japanese shower component manufacturer Science, which developed the concept of a “human washing machine” with the latest technology, which was first introduced by SANYO at the Osaka Expo in 1970. The outer shape is in the form of an egg-shaped capsule, and the user’s body is automatically washed through a microbubble device inside.
When lying in a 2.3 m-long capsule, microbubbles and mist remove contaminants from the whole body for about 15 minutes and complete drying. During operation, health information is collected through sensors in the back area, and comfortable videos and music are played to add a resting effect.
The Mirai Human Washing Machine was unveiled at the Osaka and Kansai World Expo ‘Osaka Healthcare Pavilion’ held in April, drawing great attention, and at that time, more than 40,000 applications for experience were received.
Science President Yasuaki Aoyama said, “We hope that those who have not visited the Expo site will also take this opportunity to experience technology firsthand.”
The product will start a store demonstration on December 25th, and a corner will be provided for visitors to experience it in person. An official sale date has not yet been set.
