Keihan Bus to trial “Kyoto Central Line” Okoshi Bus in Kyoto, Nov 1–Jan 31, 2026

Keihan Bus in Kyoto, Japan, will operate the Okoshi Bus “Kyoto Central Line” on a trial basis from November 1 through January 31, 2026.

Stops include Gion (in front of KOTOWA Kyoto Yasaka), Shijo-Karasuma / Nishiki Market, Nijo Castle, in front of Kyoto City Hall, and Heian Shrine / Okazaki Park—eight locations in total. There are seven trips per day; the first departure from Sanjo Keihan is at 9:10 a.m., the last at 6:15 p.m., and a full loop takes 53 minutes.

Fares are 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children. Cash and transportation IC cards are accepted, and passengers can also board by presenting the Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau’s Subway & Bus One-day Pass or Sky Hop Bus Kyoto same-day or two-day tickets.

The initiative aims to alleviate crowding on public transportation in Kyoto City and reduce overconcentration at Kyoto Station, while encouraging transfers from Keihan Railway.
