TOKYO, November 25, 2025–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In its efforts to promote nighttime tourism, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government is developing new attractions that illuminate the capital after dark. As part of this initiative, projection mapping is being presented year-round on the iconic Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1, transforming its façade into a canvas of light and sound.

A brand-new production inspired by the internationally popular soccer anime”BLUE LOCK”, titled BLUE LOCK – TOKYO EGOIST –, began screening on Saturday, November 22.
On the first day of the screening, a mini-event was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Plaza, where voice actors Kazuki Ura (voice of Yoichi Isagi) and Hiroshi Kamiya (voice of Jinpachi Ego) joined fans in celebrating the premiere.

Over 6,000 Visitors on Opening Day
On Saturday, November 22: the first day of the screening, over 6,000 visitors gathered at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Plaza, including “BLUE LOCK” fans, tourists, and families. The plaza was filled with attendees wearing the original light-up bracelets distributed in celebration of surpassing one million total viewers.
Among the visitors, some commented, ‘I was very satisfied with the powerful “BLUE LOCK” projection mapping, which offered a completely different experience from the anime. ’ ‘‘The talk session by voice actors Ura and Kamiya was also very exciting, and I enjoyed the sense of unity with the audience wearing light-up bracelets.’ Visitors enjoyed the Blue Lock visuals projected onto the massive projection surface recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ , as well as the special mini-event held on the opening day.

Talk Event with Voice Actors Kazuki Ura and Hiroshi Kamiya
At the opening-day event, voice actors Kazuki Ura (voice of Yoichi Isagi) and Hiroshi Kamiya (voice of Jinpachi Ego) took the stage for a talk session, followed by a countdown to the premiere screening. With the two leading the call, the screening began, sending excitement through the entire venue.

Reflecting on the projection mapping, Ura commented:
“Absolutely breathtaking! The charm of Blue Lock was powerfully brought to life through powerful visuals that only projection mapping can deliver. It was a deeply moving moment to see such a cherished work projected onto the iconic Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.”
