(WO) – FairWind has strengthened its presence in the Asia-Pacific wind services market through a new strategic partnership with Wind Energy Partners (WEP), a Japanese turbine operations and maintenance firm. The agreement marks the latest step in FairWind’s regional growth strategy following its October acquisition of Australia-based Cosmic Group.

The partnership brings together FairWind’s global experience in onshore and offshore turbine installation, pre-assembly and servicing with WEP’s expertise in preventative maintenance, blade repair and local regulatory requirements. Founded in 2020, WEP is headquartered in Yokohama and operates seven additional bases across Japan.

Through the collaboration, FairWind gains access to WEP’s established network, infrastructure and in-country knowledge, while WEP will benefit from FairWind’s broader international capabilities. The companies said the arrangement is intended to improve service reliability, shorten response times and offer expanded technical solutions to Japan’s growing wind market.

“Japan’s wind sector is still in its early stages, but strong government support and rising investment are creating significant opportunity,” said Matt Crossan, APAC regional director at FairWind. “Leveraging WEP’s deep local knowledge alongside FairWind’s global expertise allows us to support the long-term performance of Japan’s onshore and offshore turbines.”

WEP President Kaoru Saito said the alliance reflects rising demand for specialized turbine maintenance as Japan builds out new wind capacity.

FairWind, headquartered in Denmark, employs more than 2,200 technicians operating in over 40 countries and provides full-scope wind turbine services across the lifecycle of renewable energy assets.
