Actress and chef Aoya Yui showed off a photo taken with her husband, who is an employee of Nippon-Ham baseball team.

She updated her Instagram on the 24th, writing, “My husband’s first season as a baseball team employee since retiring from active play has ended successfully. First of all, thank you for your hard work in your first year.” Her husband is former pitcher Yohei Kagitani, who played for Nippon-Ham and The Giants and retired from active play in September 2024. Kagitani later became a team employee for Nippon-Ham.

Aoya reflected, “I think we both really worked hard this past year while living apart. Seeing him face his work in a new environment always encourages me, and even though we’re apart, his consideration has allowed me to work hard and have fun.” She expressed her gratitude, saying, “Next year, let’s continue enjoying our roles in our respective places and spend time together! Thank you as always for this wonderful Couple’s Day!”

She posted a photo of them with their arms around each other, explaining, “The photo was taken on a surprise trip to Hakone and Kamakura for my birthday the other day.” Her followers were touched, saying, “They are such a lovely couple,” and “Your relationship is so wonderful, it makes you want to support them both!!”

Aoya has appeared in dramas and commercials, including the NHK morning drama “GeGeGe no Nyobo” in 2010. In January 2020, she announced her marriage to Kagiya, and their first child, a girl, was born on December 15th of the same year.
