JAL trials speech-to-text device at Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita international counters

Japan Airlines (JAL) will pilot a speech-to-text device at the international counters of Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports.

The system being introduced is Dai Nippon Printing’s “DNP Dialogue Support System.” It consists of a directional microphone, a tablet, and a display, and can be used wherever power and Wi‑Fi are available.

Conversation content is displayed in real time on a transparent display and can be switched to information in 31 languages as needed. It is intended for use in check-in procedures, boarding and transfer guidance, explanations related to baggage, and consultations. The trial period runs from November 10 to 30.
