Achi Shrine (Kurashiki) – #shorts #travel #japan #kurashiki #japaneseshrine #japantravel
This shrine is located in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter and was first founded in the 4th century AD during the reign of Emperor Ojin. Sea travelers and merchants used to come to this shrine to pray for safe passage. Unfortunately, the original main shrine was destroyed in a fire, so the one you can see today was built in 1749. Since Achi shrine is located at the top of Mt. Tsurugata Yama, it offers good views of the entire historical quarter! Also, I personally found the architecture of the building you see in the second to last clip very interesting and I thought that it was especially cool how that was incorporated into the goshuin that I received. This was filmed with an iPhone 13. Hope you enjoy!
