Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja shared a new information drop for Nioh 3, introducing the Bakumatsu period set in 1800s Kyoto.
This iteration of the setting features new enemy types, including the Shinsengumi, who arrive with modern weapons. The narrative follows Tokugawa Takechiyo as he meets new characters connected to each time period. In this era, in particular, there will be significant figures such as Takasugi Shinsaku, Okita Soji, and Tokugawa Yoshinobu, the final shogun of the Edo shogunate.
Pre-orders are now live for all versions. Alongside the standard edition, players can pick up the Digital Deluxe Edition or the standalone Season Pass. A SteelBook edition includes the base game plus two bonus DLCs, and every early purchase comes with a limited-time bonus on PS5 and Steam.
