Japan’s Princess Aiko has attended an exhibition of specialty silk in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Friday is the Princess’s final day in the country, concluding her first official overseas trip that began on Monday.
The Princess is the daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako.
As part of her experience at the exhibition, she tried weaving using a traditional loom.
Later, she met with people who have been contributing to cooperation between the two countries in fields such as education and health care.
After the meeting, Buasone Vongthavone, president of Japan Alumni of Laos, described the princess as “so lovely and so nice.” She expressed her desire to have more students go to Japan to learn, and come back to help develop her country.
The Princess was set to leave Laos and depart for Japan on Friday evening.
