Japan Vlog 🍁How much I spent in Kyoto!

[Music] But I’ve calculated everything that I’ve spent. This place is a 10 out of 10. [Music] This is our first full day in Kyoto. Today I want to film a how much I’m spending in Kyoto video. Hope you guys enjoy. We are starting with two matcha lattes with soy. This place has soy milk, guys. And we also got a creme donut. So, that came to $18. $9 each for a drink and half of a donut, which is pretty good. I think on camera it looks a lot more green, but it’s not like the greenest matcha that I’ve seen, but I’m still hopeful. I feel like it won’t be sweetened, so we have sugar on the side. Cheers. The match is not that strong. You can taste the soy, though. Well, you add this. This is what you add. Gum syrup. Sugar syrup. Yeah. Apparently, gum syrup is really good. I watched it on your mom, Ashley. She said it was really good. Putting this to the test. [Music] Wow. It’s actually so good. Kind of just tastes like milk. The match is not that strong. I’m excited to try the brulee donut. That is warm. Look at that. Cheers, guys. Seriously good. It looks good. They made fresh. Damn. Very good. And the actual journal is like sweet. There’s like cream on the inside. I love the crystallization at the top. How do you rate the matcha out of 10? I don’t know what good matcha is. I like eight. I think I get this a six. I would totally come back for the donut. [Music] The meat in Kyoto is actually really good. It’s like not that chewy. I’ll try to get you guys to see. Yeah, in Tokyo it was more chewy. And I think it’s this chain started here because the name has Kyoto and there’s a lot more chains I think. But look, I like to use the dressing sauce for the cabbage because it’s like citrusy. The crumb coat is like not that thick. So, okay, it is kind of falling apart. It’s not that thick, so it doesn’t get sickening very easily. You know how with pota the batter can be quite thick. Sometimes I like take it off. This one’s like the perfect size for $1860. It’s so good. I think this is our third time box. So, so far I’ve only spent $1860 plus $9. So, what that’s $2760. How good umbrellas they have zips. Is that not cool? This one is 58 cm for 40. $50. This is actually our one, two, fifth umbrella of the trip. No, our Yeah, our fifth umbrella of the trip. We lost the first umbrella. So, we have two big umbrellas that I’ll bring back to Australia. And then I bought a little pink one, but this one drew my attention. I also heard that Japan umbrellas are really good. And this one literally has a zip. So, you know when like it never stays this compact? You can actually just like zip it up. Is that not savvy? And then from $46 it went to 34. So 30% off which is good. There was a pink one but I just decided to get the black. So it doesn’t have that like discoloration. And then it has UV protection, heat shielding, highest grade water repellency. So, I did notice that when we were in the train station, everyone’s umbrella was dry except for like one of our ones. So, this one has water repellency. And let’s test it out. And it’s also automatic. So, one that I bought for $10 wasn’t automatic. Oh, wow. It’s a bit small. It’s very flat. All feel quite water repellent. I like the clear umbrellas because they have like a dome shape, but this one will be good for like keeping it in my handbag and like work. Okay, zipped it up. It looks pretty thin, slim. You zip it in like that. How cool. How cool. Okay, love that. Now I’ve spent $34, $18.60, and $9. We’re going to go find another matcha spot. Then we’ll head to the Bambi Forest. [Music] [Music] Don’t these drinks look so good? How cute. Okay, so this one is the Yuzu Honey Matcha. I appreciate how she literally whisked the drinks one by one. She didn’t just like double up the matcha. We try this one first. Looks so good. This looks so strong. Yeah, looks strong, right? $13.50. I think this one I can’t remember the price. I think it’s mixed. So, this one was $7. They were both around $7. No. What? It’s like very yuzu lemony. Cheers. I don’t like it. This is so good. You know what? I also appreciate the fact that they actually just do one can of soda per drink. So, the soda doesn’t go stale. Very citrusy, right? Too citrusy. But the honey makes it sweet. What is this one? This one is just some This is a rich matcha latte. They use bonsoy. What is bomb choy? Oh, it’s like a good soy milk. Is it good? Which one’s better? Look at the ice. Oh, yeah. You know what’s good? When they have the little crunchy ice cubes. That one’s good. M. I reckon it would be so good if it was a bit less sweet for me, but I think a lot of people will like that. Very good. You He gave the last place an out of eight out of 10. So, what does this place get? This one’s like a 10. Other place I give it a four. How did you get from eight out of 10 or four out of 10? That one just was not sweet. This one’s sweet. Well, it was sweet since we added the gum syrup. But this one has the matcha taste. Yeah. This is so good. But I don’t know how I’m going to finish a medium. I love these kind of drinks when it’s like there’s matcha, but it’s busy from the soda, but it’s sour from the yuzu, but it’s also sweet from the honey. Like they put a solo with matcha. They put lemonade. Feel like I’m get tummy a Oh, I would totally check this place out. So, what would you rate this one? Which one? This one? Six. Okay, that’s not bad. It’s a bit weird. Wait, you think this is better than the last place? Nah, but it’s just a stronger matcha. Um to be honest, we’ve tried the matcha Tokyo, this place, the other place, and I feel like we tried Oh, I do tea. And to be honest, Melbourne matcha is pretty like on par with Japan matcha. Back then, it used to not be on par, but I think because so many people started finding an interest in matcha, a lot of Melbourne cafes have upped their matcha game. And to be honest, it’s pretty comparable. But I just like how they put so much like thought into the drink where they use like a new can of soda for every drink so it’s always fizzy and it’s not stale. [Music] The entrance fee to get in was $9. And I think you can just stay here for as long as you want. It’s pretty cool. [Music] I can see the really. [Music] Hi guys, it’s now 5:03. Our train’s coming in about 6 minutes. We’re heading to the bamboo forest. So, I’m very excited to finally do some sightseeing. We went to the tower and that was really pretty. The train to get there is going to cost $240. Guys, we are on our way to the bamboo forest. It’s pretty dark. Scary. I’m excited. Hopefully, the bamboo forest is more lit up. So dark. Look at this. Like, you can’t see anything. Oh my god. If I had to walk through here by myself, I think I’d actually die. Guys, was this Luke a fail? so scary. [Laughter] Scary. It sounds so scary. Let’s go back. Let’s go back. Let’s go back to more people. That sounds so scary. Look scared. He’s so scary, guys. He’s scared. He watches scary movies. [Music] Is that not just the train tracks? I don’t know. It was so fun. I love like all the glimmering lights and like the landscape I could see and all the trees and it was very nice. I really recommend I recommend coming a bit later though, maybe like around midnight cuz like it’s just so nice. Look, honestly didn’t realize it was going to be so dark, but we’re going to head back. So, it’ll be another $240 to get the line back. We just chopped up our cards. We put $10 in each of our cards. [Music] This place is expensive, guys. I think this is like the same as Melbourne. Let’s try try the aburi first. Great. Yes. So, I got seed scallop and then I got waggi. Cheers, guys. This is little rice. Wow, that salmon is so creamy. Wo, that was really good. I’m going to put lemon in my salmon. [Music] That was good. [Music] About $27 per person present. Not bad. [Music] Going to get this one. Wait, no. I mean this one. Going to try it. I think they see you walking up to Family Mart. We’re going to family m I think they’re more interested about the family m instead of you blocking the family. There’s still my pudding in the fridge. Oh, okay. Guys, this is so good. This is so good. Should I buy it? Okay, fine. I’ll get it. We’ve added two to the cart, guys. I watched a Tik Tok and they said that this is really good. Frozen grapes. So, I’m going to get it. Add to the cart, please. What’s going on, guys? Here with the very family. I’ll do a haul of everything once I get back to the hotel. We’re only like a few minutes away. You need a haul for this? Oh, this is our hotel, guys. I’ll show you. It’s so nice. It’s called Fuji Hotel. I’ll show you guys everything that I got today. First, we got the umbrella. This was $34. How cool is that? I’ve never seen a cover with a zip, but the umbrella is like really flat. This is like the most flat umbrella I’ve ever owned. I got the Kyoto Venetto cookie matcha and chocolate. How cute. And I think this is like a 28 pack. And it was $30. And then this one was $14 and it’s like nama chocolate, I think. Then I got this citrus wabi mochi. I actually got this in Oslo, but I bought it in like two different flavors for Nikki and they didn’t have the citrus flavor, so I want to try this. We played Tim Sam, so I got this. Let’s try it. M. The mascapony taste is what’s coming through rather than the majam from Family M. I got the frozen grapes and the sandwich. I want to try the frozen grapes before it melts. So, this is what it looks like. Oh, it’s like a smushy. I thought they were literally frozen grapes. It literally tastes like grape candy. Okay, let’s try this one. They’re good. It tastes like those grape candies from like the Asian supermarket but in like ice cream form. I don’t think I would get it again because there’s a lot and it’s like there 22.4 g of sugar and already having so much sugar. But this is good. Good to try. Let’s try the chocolate. If you’re wondering, Alfred is behind me. Do you want to wave your hand? [Music] M. It’s very good. It tastes like matcha and white chocolate. But I’m pretty sure Nama chocolate is expensive in Melbourne. I think like one row. It’s like $10. Correct me if I’m wrong. And I have this whole thing for 14. Do you want to try it? No, I’m good. Okay, let’s try this sushi wabi mochi. Oh my god, guys. Forgot about this. Have a look. Cheers, guys. The citrus flavor is subtle, but it’s a good subtle. M. What I’ve been watching or at least this tastes like a dango. M. This is good. I like it. But I’m glad I only bought one. So, this is my third time trying Ben Zai 10. And I’d say this place has the best daukus. When I was in Tokyo, the strawberry dauku was $14, but I’m pretty sure it was because it was a higher quality strawberry. And this is what it looks like. So, I got gold, kiwi, strawberry, and a fig. So, the strawberry was the cheapest. It was $640. Gold kiwi was $720. And then the fig, which was the biggest was $10. Try the fig. Cheers. M. I don’t think I like it. I can taste like the white bean a lot or the red bean. This is okay. I wouldn’t get it again kiwi. Let’s try that. Cheers. Yum. I think I’m too full to try the sandwich, guys. The last one, the strawberry one. I love how small it is. Cheers. Mhm. Strawberry is such a classic and it’s my favorite out of all of the flavors I’ve tried. It has to be strawberry first, gold kiwi second, and then the fig. But I’ve calculated everything that I’ve spent. So I spent $8.17 at Family Mart, $24 on the Dauukus, $4427 on the matcha sweets, $27 on dinner, $13.66 on the matcha, $9 for the entrance fee to the Tokyo Tower, Kyoto Tower, $10 on Suika, $341 on the umbrella, $9 on on the match in the morning, and then $186 on brunch. I think I’ve spent $200 around 200. You guys can see first. What is it? Pretty close. $198.11. It actually adds up so quickly, guys. To be fair, had I not tripped and fell into the Marshall shop and I bought the Dugus, it would have been $130. So, yeah, that’s how much I spent in a full day in Kyoto. Tomorrow, we have like Kyoto. We have to check out of here at 11:00 a.m. And then we want to do sightseeing. Sightseeing was a fail today. The bamboo forest was so dark, so we couldn’t really see anything. But tomorrow I want to do more sightseeing. So since we are checking out early, we can just leave our luggage at the lobby and yeah, come pick it up afterwards or we can put it in a coin locker at Kyoto station. I hope you guys enjoyed today’s video. I’ll have more vlogs coming soon. $198 was spent today and I will see you guys in my next video. Bye.
