After 3 hours bus journey from Osaka, we arrived our first stop Shirgo byang Shurikawago. Oi maki ding gasho style village is a UNESCO world heritage. We only have 2 hours to visit the Oi Maki Gasho style village. So we must go to the Shiroyama viewpoint first. The viewpoint offers nice views of Oimachi and its farm houses. We are walking towards the shuttle bus station. Planning to pay 300 yen to the viewpoint. [Music] The queue at the bus stop is long. We couldn’t get up the bus. So, we decided to use the walking trail, which took us 30 minutes to hike up hill. After which we paid 300 yen each for the shuttle bus to return to the village. Next, let us explore the village. [Music] The gasho style with its triangular shaped leaves resembling an open book propped up on its covers. This structure is built to withstand harsh natural conditions including heavy snowfalls that sometimes exceed for meters. Last, we paid 600 yen each to visit the open air museum and museum. Here it preserves and exhibits a total of 25 buildings. It including watermill shrines and temple halls. Let’s experience the traditional living in those days. [Music] We are now at anora village at Gokyama Natural Park, another UNESCO world heritage. We hike about 20 minutes up to the viewpoint to get the panoramic view of Anoora village. Some gashoure houses here are over 300 years old and they are well preserved. Being so remote with lesser tourists, the village retains the timeless ambiencece of a bygone era. There are about 20 old houses. Many of them remain as private residential. [Music] Well, we ended our touring for the day heading to our hotel. After check-in, we ventured into the neighborhood. [Music] We ended up in this restaurant for our dinner. Drinking sake rice wine and enjoy our Wagyu beef dinner. Good choice. [Music] Oh wow, look at its rich marbling. [Music] After dinner, we went to a convenience store. We found cups of frozen fruit. Wait, wait, wait. [Music] [Music] Okay, okay, okay. quite [Music] invented to see I show you see smoothie is out. Okay. [Music] Difficulty in selection. Eventually, I decided on the Hokkaido melon pudding. Today’s trip to Tatyama Korobi Alpine Road begins. The journey involves a combination of different modes of transport including highland bus, electric buses, tunnel, electric bus, ropeway and cable car. [Music] We came to Beijera. There we looked out for Shamo Falls, the highest waterfall in Japan. [Music] Here we are lighted at Moroto, which is 2,450 m altitude. This delicious natural spring water is drinkable from early June when the snow starts to melt through to late October. It’s natural mineral water from the mountain. Then we started to hike up to Mikirai Pond. The weather is cool, the sky is blue. It made our pictures look so good. [Music] The main attraction of the Tatyama Cororobi Alpine route is the magnificent scenery of the Tatyama mountain range and its beautiful landscapes. This is a crater lake of Tatyama volcano. [Music] We can see the peak of Mount Tatyama reflected in the cobalt blue surface of the pond. [Music] Moredo Diara is the highest point along the Tatyama Cororo Alpine route, offering fantastic views of the Tatyama mountain range. [Music] An observation deck with a wide panorama of the Japan Alpine and the lake formed by Kiraab Dan. [Music] again. We are on the Cororo cable car. [Music] Yeah. [Music] Heat. [Music] We climbed 220 steps to the observation deck for an aerial view of the dam and its surroundings. 220. Okay, there you have your view. [Music] Kurobi Dam with a height of 186 m is Japan’s tallest dam. From late June to midocctober, up to 15 tons of water per second are spectacularly discharged through the dam. The dam has since been supporting a hydro power plant in its supply of electricity to the Kai region. [Music] We took our lunch at the rest house. We had this phantom masu sushi, a salmon sushi as our lunch. [Music] This is the last stop for the alpine route. We walked to the station to catch the Kendon Tunnel electric bus to Oi Zawa. [Music] Okay. Goodbye. Heading [Music] to our next spot, Hikuba Ski Jumping Stadium. Japan hosted the ski jumping event at the 1998 Winter Olympics. [Music] Check into Hotel Oak Forest. Still using key to enter the hotel room. Let’s check out what’s around the hotel. [Music] Japanese style breakfast on the third morning. Traveling toward Kami Kochi. Kamio Kochi is a scenic mountain valley in the Hida Mountains of Nagano Prefecture. Celebrated for its pristine nature, alpine views, and hiking trails. Teso Pond was formed in 1915 when an eruption of the nearby volcano Yak Danzusa River. [Music] The simplest way to enjoy a day in Kami Kochi is by hiking the trails along Isuza River from Tishop Pan to Mojan Bridge. Yik, that mountain with the scar running down its side is the culprit in the formation of Teso Pond. The trails are mostly flat terrain and requires no hiking experience and it took us about 2 and 1/2 hours. The mineralrich sediment collected on the bottom formed the color of the water of Tashiro pond. [Music] The crystal clear waters originate from the Japanese alpine, passing through deep gorgees, past verdant forests, and into serene river. Hotaka bridge provides iconic views of the Hotaka mountain peaks and the clear blue Isusa River flowing below. Kappa Bridge, Kapabashi, a charming wooden suspension bridge spanning the crystal clearar waters of the Isusa River. [Music] This picturesque landmark offers stunning vistas of the surrounding peaks, including the Hotaka mountain range and the Mount Yik. Japanese fried fish cakes, oishi, all sorts of attractive cookies. [Music]
