Hit Home Run in Pacific League in the opening game

On March 28th, the opening game against Tohoku Rakuten was held at Kyocera Dome Osaka. Ota started as the sixth batter and second baseman. With neither team scoring, in the bottom of the second inning, with one out and a runner on first base, Ota hit a fastball thrown by opposing starting pitcher Takahisa Hayakawa with count at 1-0, sending the ball into the left-field stands. This hit, which gave the team a valuable leadoff run, was the first home run of the season in Pacific League.

Ota also hit Home Run in the final game of the season (October 5th against Tohoku Rakuten), reaching double Home Run for the first time in his career. His batting average is .283, fourth in the league, so we can expect him to win a batting title next season.
